After much research on the web combined with information from What’s The Best Mattress, we purchased a Select Sleep 10,000 king latex mattress from Sleep EZ in April of this year. I felt it best to wait a reasonable amount of time before submitting a review. Initially we felt the 13,000 model was what we wanted at $2100.00 which was about $700.00 cheaper than Flobeds. To our surprise, Shawn thought the 10,000 was a better fit based on our bodyweights and firmness likes. So we settled on the Select Sleep 10,000 and saved $300. We purchased only the king mattress after describing our existing box springs to Shawn and he assuring us they would support the mattress just fine.
We selected a soft layer, a medium layer, and a firm layer which we found was too soft. After a few days we switched to the following arrangement: medium on top, firm in middle and soft on bottom. This was the perfect feel for both of us, and what we have been sleeping on for the past 2 months.
I have to say price was a factor, but the fact that Sleep EZ had been in business for over 30 years and are a member of the BBB, made our purchase a lot easier. After two months we couldn’t be happier and highly recommend this company.

Awful sagging mattress

Spring air Nature's Rest Latex

My wife and I tried several spring mattresses and didn't like the memory foam toppers on everything because we ended up in a dip on our side of the bed with a big ridge between us (I've seen it called 'canoeing' on this site).

We were convinced into a Latex mattress by a salesman because they were supposed to never sag, were all natural (and we'd had problems with chemical smells from memory foam 'gassing out') and had a 20-year warranty. The Nature's Rest we tried in the shop seemed acceptable so we negotiated hard and went with it.

After the first night we seemed to have sunk down and within 30 days I was calling the retailer to complain about the sagging. They agreed that a brand new mattress shouldn't sag that much (even when manufacturers blame it on 'compression' of the top layers). After 60 days the manufacturer sent out an 'independent' assessor who takes measurements and a letter arrives from Spring Air to say that any dips of less than 1.5inches are 'normal', that it's not on the right box spring and they won't replace it.

Now my retailer was also really hard to work with but even they agreed that this was a terrible response (but refused to admit they'd lied about needing the matching box spring). On it went for months with Spring Air refusing to honor their warranty or stand by their terrible product and the retailer offering terrible terms to exchange for a more expensive product.

After 6 months we have given up and resigned to sleeping apart with a divide in the middle.

Considering how expensive these mattresses are it is disgusting how the manufacturers will not stand by their products and are just obsessed with piling more and more pillowtops on them to con buyers at retail.

Steer well clear of Spring Air - or buy from a department store who offer their own warranty.

Pros:

Pretty Green tree design at the foot of the bed. Wasn't high on my criteria list though...

Cons:

Sagging and you don't feel supported like you do on springs.

I'm in heaven!

My husband wanted to get a new bed as a Christmas present for me. I was really having trouble sleeping on our old queen size mattress because it would slope way down on his side whenever he got into bed. It was only 5 years old, but he's a really big guy - 6'5" and 280 lbs. He called Sleep EZ and said Shawn was very helpful in helping him figure out what would work for us. I was a little leery about ordering a bed sight unseen, but he said Shawn was pretty knowledgeable and he was assured that Sleep EZ would help us if we had any problems.

Anyway, he ordered an Eastern King 10000 with soft/medium/firm on both sides. It arrived right on time, just before Christmas. I was amazed that you could actually get a bed shipped in boxes like that. We figured it would take some time to set up, so we decided to wait until after we returned from vacation to put it together.

Now I wish we hadn't waited! I slept so well on the luxurious bed at our hotel, I was really anxious to get back and set up our new bed. It was a breeze to assemble and it was way better than the hotel bed!

I have never slept so soundly before. I sleep through the night now, no tossing or turning, and I almost don't know there's anyone else in the bed with me. It doesn't slope on my husband's side, it doesn't shake if he gets out of bed, and it just sort of cuddles me until I wake up in the morning...
