Yet another bad experience with Kingsdown

Kingsdown Crown Comfort

My wife and I were given a new Sterns and Foster mattress as a wedding present in 2002. Three and a half years later the body impressions became intolerable. I went through the standard denial of warranty process which seems to be industry standard. The mattress retailer claimed that the body impressions were a result of the innerspring supports, so we decided to go with an all-foam mattress - the Kingsdown. This mattress was absolutely perfect for the first four months, then the body impressions first became noticeable. I religiously turned the mattress every month to no avail. When lying on this mattress now, five years later, and we literally sink nearly half way down. My wife and I have both had spinal fusion surgeries and have been waking in considerable pain every morning. Like many of the other reviewers, I had a worthless customer service experience. All in all, I suggest passing these folks by.
Date Purchased: 08/10
Price Paid: $1200
Recommend: No

Pros:

Mattress is very light - light enough to remove from the bed frame and carry to the trash pickup without assistance
It's rectangular - I've saved thousands of dollars over the life of the mattress from not having to buy hexagonal sheets

Cons:

Body impressions develop after less than six months
Kingsdown's seems to refuse nearly all warranty claims

Me and my wife needed a new mattress after the little ones got a little older and stopped wetting the bed we thought yay !! We can treat our selves and buy a new bed ! What a nightmare it was too buy kings down first of all the sales man at Leon's in Thunder Bay canada was pushing this mattress like a meth dealer ! Just with the this is the best mattress we carry there Canadian company all our customers love the kingsdown ya right !
The first night my wife and daughter slept on it me and the other child slept in the other room haha we have two kids and always sleeping in separate rooms crazy I know but that's how it is .my wife was in tears of back pain I did not believe her our new mattress could cause back pain so the next night we switched beds yup what a piece of crap bed we complained to Leon's and they sent out a mattress inspector who said it was a defect mattress great I thought at least we're not stuck with it . So we went back to find out that nope we are stuck in this nightmare of a bed they can only replace it with the same mattress well we don't want another kings down we were stuck with it that's it so now we rotate beds and take turns with who's gonna wake up in pain the next day awful mattress I would not wish this nightmare on anybody

I got my 1st kingsdown in 1996. It was a XL twin and I still love it. Bought my 2nd Kingsdown last month as a kingsize. My mate and I both move in our sleep and often wake up in the middle of the night. We are sleeping though the night better. Neither of us is sore in the morning. That is a real plus.
The mattress is firm yet very comfortable.
