We just bought a new Englander Memory Foam Mattress. I haven’t slept more than a couple of hours without waking up in pain since we began sleeping on it. I wake up in the morning with awful pain in almost every part of my body. My arms go numb from pressure cutting off the circulation while I sleep. This bed felt fine when I laid on it at the store before we purchased it, But it feels like I'm sleeping on concrete after just a few hours. I had No pain or problems sleeping before we bought this bed. We bought this as a Christmas gift for us to give ourselves. My husband isnt having the same problems with the bed, however he weighs about 275lbs. and I weigh 160lbs. so there is a weight issue here that could make a difference. There is a No Return policy on these beds so I am stuck being miserable. I need help if anyone has a solution for my problem. I will Never buy another mattress with a No Return Policy again.

My wife and I both have trouble sleeping, so we now sleep in separate beds. We recently purchased two new Englander mattress and box spring sets, which are innerspring with a layer of memory foam. Immediatly after they arrived, my wife complained that she felt hot at night, and couldn't sleep. She gave the mattress set a week's trial, but was so uncomfortable with the heat she returned it to the store and exchanged it for a Simmons Beautyrest Elite, which she loves.

I hung in there with the Englander for almost 4 weeks (the store's exchange period was 30 days). I too noticed that I was unusually warm at night - this in mid-winter - and I worried what it would be like during the heat of summer. Worse than that was how uncomfortable the mattress was. When I laid on my side, there were pressure points at my hip and shoulder that felt like I was laying on the floor. A couple of times I woke up with my hand numb, and almost every day I woke up with a backache. I finally gave up and exchanged it for a Simmons as well, which so far has been a vast improvement.

The salesman at the store admitted that he's gotten some complaints about the mattress being hot, apparently from the layer of memory foam just below the surface. This is not a mattress I would recommend to anyone.

I have had my Tension ease / Essence for six years now and I recently went into a mattress store called dreamaker in Chicago. the one on the floor and my bed STILL feels exactly how the new floor model in the store felt. Unlike my last mattress, it still has not dipped down in the center and it still feels brand new. I recommend this bed over Simmons

Pros:

Very comfortable, durable and does not get hot like some other latex beds do.

Cons:

I thought it was expensive when I bought it but it realy isn't considering what beds cost now a days. Englander as a brand should promote themselves more.
