The foam surface was comfortable for about six months. Then it began to sag in the hip area. I've now had it only a year but I wake up with backaches because it has sagged so much in the middle. It was a complete waste of money - now I have to buy another mattress.

Entry level Stearns and Foster mattress review

Price listed is total and it's a twin XL set. This mattress is an entry level unit in S&F's traditional line. Has individual coils, but not Intelli coils. Light brown border, not the dark brown ones on the newer mattresses. I give the mattress a 'B' grade. The polyurethane foam they call 'Variable Response Technology' foam did what they all do - form permanent body indentations and firm up in just several days. The box spring is awesome - it's quality seems quite high. The mattress is very nice looking. But the change in feel of the poly foam causes me to turn from side to side more than I would like.
I've laid on an organic mattress with individual coils and 3" all natural latex, organic wool and cotton cover - now that is heavenly soft and cushy. My mattress isn't near that. Consequently, it is scheduled to be picked up in 3 days and I'm going to exchange to best unit I can find at Sears - a Serta iComfort Revolution. Although it is not as cushy as latex, it should hold its durability for much longer than S&F's 'VRT' poly foam.
Date Purchased: 6/17/11
Price Paid: $1126 Recommend: No Pros:
High quality cover with silk infused fabric
excellent build quality, feels solid coils seem of high quality box spring seems very high quality It is supportive, no neck or back aches Cons:
The VRT polyurethane foam has indented and the mattress is not as Plush as day one.
I've felt 100% natural latex that is much more soft and cushy than this Plush mattress Offers more pressure on my shoulders/hips (side sleeper) than I want, consequently more tossing and turning.

Best Bed Ever!

I work for a national bedding retailer so my options were pretty much open when selecting my own mattress. I had a Simmons Beautyrest World Class before but decided to make the switch to S&F. Knowing the backgound information about the company and all the pro's and con's from the professional viewpoint made my decision easy. I LOVE IT! I have had several back injuries and my husband has some old sports injuries and it's just perfect for the both of us!
Date Purchased: 2/2011
Price Paid: $2000 Recommend: Yes Pros:
-Very Supportive
- Comfortable - Comforming - Firm yet soft - Durable - Aesthetically Appealing - Highest quality materials Cons:
- A bit expensive, but so worth it!
- Took a little while to break in/get used to, but it is to be expected.
