I was told that this mattress would take some time to break in. After almost a year it is still the most uncomfortable mattress purchase i've ever made.

We bought the Simmons BeautyRest Black "Sasha" (Natasha at other places) in December and took delivery in early January.

Right off the bat I noticed that this was a different sleeping experience. This thing is plush plush. Uber plush. Instead of supporting your weight it kind of sucks you down and envelops you. You don't so much lie on this mattress as in it.

In this mattress, you don't feel weightless or supported. You feel heavy. Like Sumo wrestler heavy.

It's also extremely energy absorbent, which makes it tough to get out of, move around in, or, for that matter have sex in. You don't rebound... you can get where I'm going with that.

Don't get me wrong... I sleep like a log in this thing, and have even come to like the heat (It's winter) that the NxG foam reflects back (it gets hot. Think of abandoning one of your blankets). But waking up, the sensation is like you're in a giant wet sponge.

It's also freakin' enormous, which makes moving it out of the question. It also makes finding the right sheets very hard, and when you do find the ultra deep sheets that do cover the mattress, even those ride up the corners.

My wife likes this mattress, but she LOVES the replacement we're trading it in on. I don't mind the mattress, but I know there's a better mattress out there for me.

I've never spent as much on a mattress - over $1600 - and gotten such a piece of cr_p in my life. I am now living with an aching back and poor sleep because they say that the mattress has sunk less than the 1.5" stated in the warranty. Folks 1.5" is a lot when the 1.5" is spread over half of your body length. Your back is not meant to sleep on such garbage. Do not ever even consider buying Simmons. You'll be sorry for years until you can afford something else. The back pain you won't believe. Their warranty people checked it out and confirmed that the foundation was not only adquate but extra so due to my placing more wood legs under the box spring set, also Beautyrest (bull) purchased at the same time. I have to turn the mattress 1/4 turn every 3 weeks so my body indentions go sideways for a few nights before I have to rotate it again.
