we purchased two of these beds at Costco back in december. One for our cabin in the mountains and one for home. The first thing that was hard to deal with was the smell that came off of the mattress for a week or so. The first time we came back to the cabin to stay, the mattress was literally hard as a rock! We keep our thermostat at 50 degrees while we are away to keep the pipes from freezing, but I guess it didn't keep the bed from freezing. It takes over an hour of lying in the bed for it to start softening up. I finally used a heater blanket to defrost the bed so we could sleep. The one at home that we sleep in every night has been hurting my back and neck and sadly, I have had to realize it's time to part ways with our purchase and find another mattress. These were a complete waste of money and I am so disappointed.

Pros:

the price.

Cons:

it's super tall, our bed at the cabin requires a step stool to get into, or you need to purchase a short foundation. Makes body divets real fast, so we have a big lump in between us. Gets extremely hard in cold weather. the smell that comes off of it in the beginning.

I love it!!

I'm glad I didn't read the reviews before purchasing my Novaform gel foam mattress topper because I had none of the issues others seemed to have.

>My back feels better!
>I don't have trouble turning over, as I have silky pjs--even in winter--cuz I dislike having to adjust covers that stick to night clothes!
>There was NO smell whatsoever? ...and my husband has a VERY sensitive nose. We also put the mattress cover we had over the top of it simply because it was semi-new.
>Fit our bed perfectly...and we have a pillowtop mattress to begin with!
>Put it on mid-afternoon and it was ready for us at bedtime.
>Cooler than our old memory foam topper. --wouldn't go back to it if you paid me. Memory foam was TOO hot.
>The best $149.99 I ever spent.
>Seriously considering buying 4 twin sizes for my grandkids for Christmas!
>I actually look forward to crawling into bed just for the sheer comfort that awaits me.
>My son and daughter-in-law were visiting from Oregon. When they went home, they bought one for themselves.

I love it, love it, love it!

Sorry the rest of you had a bad experience...guess I lucked out.

...After posting and reading others' comments and what they paid for it, I went back and checked my paperwork. It does not say anything about being the "Elite" model. In fact, for what it's worth...it simply says: "novaform by Sleep Innovations gel memory foam.

This must be absolutly one of the worst mattresses on the planet. I know a previous reviewer stated it felt like sleeping on a sack of flour and I had to think about that for a minute to compare the two...after a few minutes I honestly think the flour would be better. It comes wonderfully packaged in a vacuum sealed box resembling an oversized cofee bag. When you finally make it through all the layers of cryovac, dont hold your breath because it took 5 days for it to expand to a fairly decent size. Even after the long wait, the corners are still compressed and the bed feels like a fresh slab of asphault; stiff, uninviting, and smelly.

Undoubtedly, the bed is going back ASAP and I recomend that anyone considering this mattress for whatever reason, reconsider!
