Mattress Covers
Hi Everyone, I have wrestled with wanting a latex mattress for such a long time ... last week bought a Stearns and Foster latex mattress and then when the sales associate at Sears said I had to have a waterproof cover over it to protect the warrantee on it ... I started to shudder and cancelled the order pronto. I thought why the heck would I pay almost $3,000 on a great mattress ... and by DIYers it isn't great ... only to wrap it with a "plastic" cover ... thought it would resemble a hospital bed. Anyways, I just heard of Sleep like a Bear and thought I would look at their site. I like the look of this Zippered Quilted Mattress Cover ... http://www.sleeplikeabear.com/product/COV-WOL-018 Does anyone have one? Are there other sites that offer similar products at better price? |

Re: Mattress Covers
Hey Budgy, Where are you a dealer? I find the prices in Canada WAY TOO expensive ... I am ready to buy, but not get hosed for a bed. This is why I am still considering Foam By Mail despite what people say ... I think BillB's post does and excellent job at showing their quality. Also, I am interested Euroslat base from Flobeds. Thanks for all of your help and comments ... I appreciate it. This is a great chat board. Why do my sentences run on as though I don't know how to sculpt a response or know how to use spaces ... because it sure looks different from my posting. |
Re: Mattress Covers
im on the other side of this giant land mass lol. we do sell online, but realistically I am not gonna claim us to be the cheapest, we certainly don't mark up our prices, but with the brands I sell especially online there is absolutely no discounting because of dealer agreements, and I think its wise to adhere to them, and fair to local dealers near you. Feel free to PM me if you want more info, but like I have said in the past I will never post my name publicly on the forum because its taking advantage of the user base this site has accumulated and has paying advertisers on. |

Hi Jazzsinger777, Ever since I updated Safari on my Mac, my posts come out as one long unreadable paragraph despite the fact that I carefully divid them up when I write. I have not been able to find a fix for this problem. (If anyone has any ideas, please let us know!) Before I updated Safari a few weeks ago, I did not have this problem so who knows.... ???? I tried posting using Firefox and the paragraphs come through fine. Problem is I don't care for Firefox, and have nothing bookmarked in it, so only use it if I have to. Linda |
Re: Mattress Covers
I had same problem on Google Chrome. Comes out fine on Internet Explorer using same computer and at pretty much the same time. Too bad, as I prefer Chrome otherwise. |
Re: Mattress Covers
I would PM message you Budgy but I have no Idea on how to do this ... Linda and cityskies ... I took typing in Grade 7 and the basics have stayed with me ever since ... take great pride in proper diction ... this just makes me look foolish. |

Re: Mattress Covers
Hey Jazz - I bought an extra cover with my latex mattress last year from Shopbedding.com. It is a king sized, all-cotton, with a full zipper and it was under $25 (US) shipped to me. I haven't used it but it looks and feels exactly like what I want in a mattress cover: not too much! I am wary of the beautiful, thick, wool covers taking the 'feel' out of the latex (and also costing a small fortune) and I agree with all on here that plastic or vinyl is about the very last thing I want under me. I see that some on here are using Safari and Chrome and are having trouble getting paragraphs to show up correctly. I don't know if if would work, but try inserting the break code AFTER your paragraphs like this < BR > < BR > take out all of the spaces between the break coding above (so its tight together) and enter it It may or may not look correct as each of the browsers seem to work a little differently with the on-line editor on this site, but I would try it and see if it takes. Re: Mattress Covers
I think that putting on one of those plastic or coated covers is NOT what the 'natural' mattress needs. After all, it defeats the purpose of not having to breathe the chemicals while you sleep plus it does not allow your mattress to breathe. To protect our investments we purchased the ALL WOOL covers and on top of that you can put an all cotton pad to absorb most of the fluid. The wool pad is not to absorb the fluids. We found the o-wool by Pure Rest Organics Moisture pads on ebay for best pricing. But we also use cotton pads for absorption on top of the wool especially on the kids beds in case they have accidents. The wool pads we got are machine washable but have to hang to dry. However, slight urine dampness does not require washing since there is no particulate matter in urine and when it is dry there is no odor as the bacteria do not have a chance to grow. After heavy soiling, gentle rinse is recommended. No dryer or sun or it will really shrink. |
