Can I do anything about this? - lookingnow

I know there are always more ideal ways to get a good mattress than what I'm doing but I have very llittle money and have few options.

i went into a small local family-run mattress store with excellent online reviews - people said they had bought mattresses listed at $1100 for $600, had $50 taken off for paying cash, were given free delivery and bed frames when they bought mattress sets, etc.

I'm a single gal, went alone and very tired needing a good bed on a low budget. Bought an Englander with low coil count, thick coil gauge and 5" of cheap PU foam. Stupid me. $499/full size set plus tax plus $69 delivery. Said twice I felt I was taking a risk on Englander and salesman offered a two year unconditional warranty. We all know this...

Choosing a Latex Topper for firm matress - davemac2
Sep 16, 2013 11:17 AM
Hey Guys,

Wondering if some of you can give me some feedback on your experience of adding a talalay latext topper topper to a too firm matress.  My situation is that I just bought a Simmons Beautyrest Recharge firm matress 1 1/2 months ago and am finding it a little bit too firm.  I'm experiencing some pressure point pain (a little) and lower spine pain when I sleep on my side because I think my hips are not sinking in enough.  I'm mostly a side sleeper and some stomach as well.  I'm a 6'2 male, 235lbs.  I as looking at purchasing the 3" 24 ILD talalay latext topper from Brooklyn Bedding.  My concern here is if this would be too soft for my weight?  How do you decide the thickness of the topper/comfort layer vs the ILD rating?   I assume the ILD rating is more critcal to...

Mattress surgury or buy new? - jarede7

Dear Forum users,

I am hoping to get some help from the people on this forum to decide whether I should attempt surgery on my Beautyrest masttress or just buy a new one.  The mattress is 6 years old and appears to be the equivalent of the currently selling Simmons Beautyrest World class recharge. I want to get something  new or fix the one I have because I am a side sleeper and the last two years I have been getting neck pains when I try to sleep and my arm is falling asleep.  I attribute this to the large impression that has formed where I sleep.  I have seen several great discussions regarding the surgery route and though from the research on foams that I have done on the internet show the cost that look like it could approach half a new mattress.  So my questions are:

1.  If...

Beautyrest or alternatives, spinal fusion disc issues - npfd

Hi there,

I had a spinal fusion, top to bottom done in my early teens, now late 20s. I've been having disc degeneration issues in the lumbar area, and suggested to get a firm mattress.
I've been going to mattress stores for about a month now. First with the salesperson we settled on a firm memoryfoam, Sealy Soleil. After consulting a few mattress sites, some say that memory foam is not ideal for the problems i'm having. I realize this after that memory foam is hard for me to move and get up on.... Since then I've changed my order twice, haven't taken delivery yet.

I believe I've narrowed it to two models, budget allowing too....

Both double:

which mattress would you suggest to me? - venexiano

Hi,

I am new. I am trying to go for independently pocketed coils cause I tried once an expensive memory foam matress and my back pain was terrible. Also I have a better feeling for slightly firm mattresses. I have been reading a lot here and in another mattress forum. In the other forum (I do not know if I can named) they do not suggest to purchase from big brands cause they say they are overpriced and with local stores.. I just moved to Gainesville, Florida, from Italy, I rented a furnished apt 3 days ago and the mattress there is a nightmare since it is hard as a rock! Since night 1 I am waking up all sore. With my mattress in italy i am not sore. I went today to Mattress Firm just because they have great reviews online, I didnt buy anything yet. The mattress there are...
