I filled out Flobeds chart on their web site - the weight, level of comfort etc.

I wanted a soft surface and it gave me this:

bottom layer xfirm, layer above it xfirm and the v zone layer as xfirm!

I am confused, why would it give me xfirm layers and even vzone as xfirm?

my weight is 221 lbs. sleep on my sides, and age is between 40-49.

And I want a soft upper surface but I don't want to bottom out in the mattress either (well who does want to bottom out?)

and it is giving me vzone layer as x-firm? That would not be soft.

Someone please explain...

Help! Help! I'm about to decide! - cynicaljones

I'm almost ready (I hope) to make a decision. I compared both SleepEZ's 10,000 and 13,000 models with FloBeds' Posture Select & Posture Deluxe models in both blended and natural/organic. I've made myself a pro/con/price chart between SleepEZ & FloBeds, and SleepEZ comes out way ahead on the price, which is a huge deal for me. Including foundation, legs and shipping, SleepEZ's top of the line product comes out for less $ than FloBeds' cheapest product. There are no sales right now at FloBeds, and I know people have said they followed the site daily and ended up getting refunds as sales occurred but I probably won't do that for 90 days.

Unless someone can tell me something that makes the $$$ difference worth it, lets assume I'm going with SleepEZ. But I have just a few more issues and hope anyone with experience can help me out.

Thanks to all, for all the useful information found on this forum.  A couple of weeks ago, my wife and I, received our FloBed material.  We purchased, with the Memorial Day pricing.   We went with the pine foundation and the Posture Deluxe mattress.  Best guessing the firmness, we went with a F/F/XF combination, on both sides.  We placed the pine foundation, right on top of our existing metal frame.  This way, we didn't have to hassle with refitting our existing headboard.  Obviously. only legs fitted to the inside part of the foundation were needed.  Luckily, the supporting struts on the metal frame, didn't interfere with the newly installed foundation legs. I put the entire bed together, by myself.   I found no issues, with the building of the pine foundation.  The pine foundation was very well built.  I followed the instructions and completed the assembly, with no issues.  All the...

Thanks guys.

You make excellent points and I am convinced the kit is the way to go... my wife will come around I believe.

Her apprehension towards a kit "stacker" mattress is actually my fault. You see, a couple of years ago when our hand-me-down Simmons became unusable I got the idea (from the internet) to fashion my own "cheaperpedic"  DIY mattress and did so using layers of HD36, LUX, and memory foam.

Though it has always slept hot, it was ok for a while and has degraded to an unbearable level in the last year, so chalk one up in the "fail" column for my DIY attempt.

She understandably has kind of a "oh no... not another piece together mattress" attitude. laugh

Flobeds keeps getting mentioned and they look to have an excellent product....

New FloBed and Leggett and Platt Adjustable Foundation ... After 4 weeks - erinate

I spent allot of $$$ over the last 10 years on inter spring mattresses, foundations and toppers.  Would be satisfied for a while then the issues would begin. We spent another Saturday afternoon looking at Interspring, Memory Foam, Latex, even drove over to a local Duxiana store.  Never considered purchasing a bed through the internet. After finding and reading through this website, I purchased the Deluxe Posture Flobed with the Natural Latex and an Eastern King Leggett and Platt Prodigy Adjustable bed.

My spouse and I prefer a firm feel.  Because the ordered bed was a Split King,  I was able to order the SuperFirm, over ExtraFirm, over Firm, with the latex topper.  My spouse ordered ExtraFirm, over Firm, over Medium with the latex topper.  (The Flobed website does have the SuperFirm / Natural Latex as an option but they do have it in stock).

I just spent a bit of time on both websites trying to do some objective comparisons.  I believe you get what you pay for in both cases.  I compared the SleepEZ 10,000 and the Flobeds Posture Deluxe...if both are using all natural latex the SleepEZ  is 1825 and the FloBeds 2899...so yeah its a substantial difference.

I used the Posture Deluxe because the SleepEZ has no option like the V-Zone.  Both use 3, 2.8" layers of natural talalay (Flobeds measures theirs at 2.75" I am assuming these are actually identical though).  The SleepEZ cover looks rather inexpensive and is only quilted to 2oz of wool...I am not sure if they mean 2oz per square yard or 2oz for the whole mattress...either way it is a miniscule amount...

Does it look like good quality? How about the company, how does that look as well? Just looking for your input! Thanks

I would definitely check the core of that mattress. If not latex, then I'd shop elsewhere for that price range. Flobeds offers their posture deluxe which can be configured completely with 100% natural Talalay latex from Latex International. About the same price too.

One thing I noticed in the link you sent above with the SBR vs NR numbers in it is that those were pure SBR numbers. Most sources claim the synthetic rubber is inferior in some ways on its own, but the blending process combines the strengths of both. No data to back that up other than LI's marketing blurb. Still looking for info about Radium, but I've yet to find a specific negative remark about their foam.

Going back to budgy's point from another thread, "If synthetic latex was superior then why on earth would the same company blend any natural rubber into the mix at all when the cost of doing so is significantly higher?  it would be much cheaper to make the product 100% synthetically. "

Quality King size sheet set for less than $250? Also a Mattress pad question. - megalops
Dec 28, 2011 7:50 AM
I've been lurking here for the past two weeks deciding upon my next mattress, and have finally decided to post. First off, thank you all for so much valuable information. Thanks to this forum and a visit to City Mattress, I've now decided on my mattress. I'm going to order a posture deluxe from FloBeds. These are on sale until the end of this week, and I plan on placing my order Friday. I'm confident in my selection, and hope it turns out to be comparable to the Pranasleep Wahe we tried out at City Matttress.

My next two dilemmas are which Mattress pad to order and finding a quality sheet set. I've narrowed my mattress pad to either the St. Dormeir Natural Wool Mattress Pad, or the 100% Cotton mattress pad sold by Flobeds. The Flobeds mattress already has a good amount of wool sewn into the...
