Not to be antagonistic, but from what I've read, stomach sleeping is the least recommended position. Apparently it can leave one prone to neck and back pain. 2/3 of people are side sleepers. I know they say you should put a pillow under your hips when stomach sleeping. If you use some sort of body pillow, it could train you to side sleep and not roll over to your stomach. I have a spare King size pillow which I put between knees and lay my upper arm over it when side sleeping. I find the 50" long body pillows a bit too long.
On to mattresses.
I would looking at a number of mattress stores including Sears if they have them nearby. Each retailer has different selections. Be very familiar with exchange policies (if they don't have one, find a retailer that does), and return policy. Very common...
Re: Anyone knows about Laura Ashley latex mattress at Sears? - JimBob

We are doing the same thing - going to all mattress stores and trying to compare what we see/feel. This Sears Opal Latex is on our short list - the listing that 'phynars' gives for construction is correct. Yes it is all latex, my nose told me so! There aren't any online reviews of it, but the reviews of latex mattresses in general sound great. I did check for returns, warrenty issues, etc. for this unit and found nothing significant. The Sears prices are pretty good over the 4th weekend and some may be available their outlets. We found another latex by Simmons, Natural... or Nature... something which had 3 comfort levels, one being simular to the Sears unit - price about x2 Sears discounted price. We are still trying to decide between this one and a luxary coil unit, but the price of the coil unit is x4. I...

Budgy - The Costco L&P base is the S-Cape with the DC Whisper Quiet motor. This one is rated for 450#, not the higher 600 per twin, but that is fine with me. We are small people (125lbs, 155 lbs), and the quieter motor is our top priority.
I have continued my search, and have dealt with even more misinformed Sleepys sales people. They are the predominant force around here, so it is hard to find much else except the limited selection and knowledge in the department stores. It's really too bad about the Dr. Breus and all the negative comments - that bed, in the Monogram Gold, was REALLY comfortable.

Folks
While I'm a newby to this forum and as well as the DIY mattress symposium, I would like to offer my comments on the matter. If the customer is sold any product by misleading means then the seller has a responsibility to make said product right by the customer. That means a refund of the full price or some recompense depending on the customer's wishes. I would like to state, that I recently purchased one of these beds. I've been sleeping on a wave less-water bed for nearly 30 years. While they provide good support the minuses became too much. So I went looking for a new mattress that would offer the same support as a water bed mattress as well as allow me to keep the expensive frame and headboard from the waterbed. For those not in the know concerning water beads and their foundation systems,...
New & desperately need advice re: adding layers on top of painfully firm Beautyrest - sleepymom
Jul 6, 2011 1:15 PM
I'm a newbie and am desperate. My husband and I are now on our 3rd mattress from Macy's, and we get no more preference changes. We first had Simmons Beautyrest Black, which had poor quality memory foams that provided no support whatsoever, and our backs hurt because we sank too much. (We do NOT recommend the Beautyrest Black!). On our third, and final, selection, we went with a Simmons Beautyrest Elderberry Tight Top Firm, even though the saleswoman said we'd need a topper b/c it is so firm. She was right. Alone, it is like sleeping on concrete, so it ends up being like a box spring. (It has no give even if we jump on it).
We initially added a 1.5" geo cut "Memory Foam Bed Topper by Beautyrest" that I bought at Bed, Bath & Beyond. It was too soft of a topper anyway, and did...
