1. A good dunlop and a good talalay are the same price from what I have seen, so as far as savings wise I wouldn't choose dunlop. Dunlop does have a firmer feel than talalay.

2. I am sure there are, but that is the one brand that is anywhere close to me, also about 1.5 hours, so that is why I mentioned it. Feel free to search and there actually may be an independent mattress manufacturer in your area who could help you, but you would have to search.

3. SleepEZ to me is a good option because their beds use Latex International latex which is high quality and safety tested. Their prices are along the lines of what it would cost to build your own mattress using Latex International latex and buying a cover. They also allow you to swap out layers or even...

Re: Need a topper for new Serta Innerspring - DIYJoel

The big mattress companies are putting out a crap product these days to say the least. The mattress companies use different names and coverings for the same mattress so it makes it impossible to comparison shop locally. I have a Sealy Posturpedic that I bought and immediately put a memory foam topper on. I recently started using it without the topper and realized immediately that it was a horrible mattress and had me in pain in the morning. So I am back to memory foam topper and have been researching a couple of options. For a topper you can go with latex, memory foam or the new gel memory foam. Latex would be my first choice, but is pricey. It appears that Latex International makes the best latex for bedding from my research. Memory foam is another choice, but I would be sure to purchase at least a five pound...
Night Therapy Latex Mattresses, Need advice desperately - NightTherapy
Aug 10, 2012 2:26 PM

I am KILLING myself over this decision. I have to get a mattress ordered by Monday. After finally deciding that I want a latex mattress, I came across the Night Therapy 12" Latex mattress and it seems like a really good value. It has 7 inches of latex and a 5" core and 7 inches of latex in a Sealy costs $2000.

The thing that worries me though is that all the Night Therapy latex mattresses say "Firm". I am wondering how firm that is. I weight 240 pounds and my last innerspring mattress broke down and I ended up having lower back pain.

The only reviews I can find for Night Therapy are for different models and most seem good.

Does anyone have any input in regards to Night Therapy latex mattresses in general? Also, has anyone experienced just how firm their...

Follow-Up:  Sears sent a delivery team to pick up the mattress and gave me a full refund.  I thought I was stuck with the Serta beast but Sears made a return effortless.  No restocking or pick-up fee - in fact, I didn't even lose the shipping on the refund.  Very pleased with Sears and how easy they made it for me.

I've narrowed my search for a new mattress down to Saatva or Ezsleep Latex.  Since I don't like the feel of foam, I'm leaning towards the Saatva innerspring.  I'm not a fan of pillowtop but it's probably better quality and attached differently than the cheap ones I've seen.   Another reason to pause, is shipping is $270 to Iowa.

Meanwhile, I'm sleeping on a 20 year old Sealy twin innerspring that is still firm and bouncy.  I nearly fell off one night but I prefer it to...

I guess I bought a low to mid-range Serta in spite of the $1425.00 retail price.  I paid $580.  Perhaps it was made especially for Sears since I can't find anything that matches it exactly at other sites.  It's similar to the "value" Patterson but claims 700 plus pocket coils.

I didn't realize how expensive mattresses have become.  There are no stores nearby so I took a chance and bought online trusting the brand.  I'm done with both Sears and Serta.  This mattress wasn't a bargain at all.  It only looks like an innerspring mattress but feels like a board with padding.  Even an old Sealy twin is more comfortable.

It looks like you got a nice Serta model.  It's probably a lot more substantial than the model I bought.  I wish I had spent more time researching.

I havent even made it through all the posts... i was going to wash the bed linens... and i was going to flip head to toe... my latex mattress.... isnt suppsed to be flipped when i realized the mold.... the only difference is that if i remember correctly my mattress is made out of latex.... its not supposed to have mold issues... but it could just be the outer fabric lining thats affected.

my 6 month old baby girl has slept entire life in her bassinet right next to this mold factory and as you can imagine im livid....

when i found the mold i went out and bought a brand new mattress....

i need to find the papers this mattress came with... i believe it was a seeley... but i have no idea if it was the same one that you purchased... the mattress has...

Waterbeds - opinions - LynnClaire

What a relief to finally find a Forum JUST FOR Waterbeds!

ImJay, thank you especially for the detailed descriptions of what you bought (Dreamweaver) and where, and what you added to yours for more comfort.  (I'm leaning towards down instead of laytex unless that doesn't work.)

Question from a waterbed novice:  Do the instructions with the bladder explain "burping" and when to stop filling it with water?  (Too much can make it uncomfortably hard, I gather.)  Any tips on setting one up would be greatly appreciated.

Like so many others, beds as we knew them are no more.  The old fashioned one lasted...
