That might be the problem; I'm not sure.
When I'm on my side, the bottom shoulder feels crunched. If I push down on my bottom shoulder to raise myself up, then my spine straightens.
I'm wondering if the springs -- even if they're in relatively decent condition overall -- could have started to wear down unevenly, since the mattress was resting on what is essentially a slatted foundation, not a real box spring. Dunno; just a thought.
The problem might just be that these offset coils are not the right kind of coils for me, and either pocket coils or old-fashioned Bonnell would be better.

The Eco Revive that she mentioned is one of those Organic beds. Also what are you talking about saying all of their materials come from a certified organic location in New Zealand? Are you saying the location itself is certified organic? The only materials Natura gets from NZ is their wool. The cotton (US), natural rubber (Sri Lanka and US) and...

The description given is much like most of the manufacturers who are using 1-4 inches of talalay latex over a soy-based foam core and, unfortunately, a layer (or layers) of some batting, fibers or something between the cover and the actual latex making it look more like a regular bed.
The idea that a latex bed would be "like" any memory foam option is a clear sign the salesperson does not understand (maybe even know) what it is he/she is selling. This is not meant to be rude (one of my best friends works as a designer at Ethan Allen) just par for the course for many salespeople in my industry. Basics?
Latex - sourced (to varying amounts) from the sap of a rubber tree, springy, quick reacting, usually cooler to the touch and usually the heavier you...

I have also sold pocketed coils in Serta, Sealy, Stearns & Foster and Simmons. They each have very specific profiles on feel and there are some companies in the NorthWest that can help you custom fit the sleep system to your needs. In order to not sell myself, I will refrain from listing my company here, but if your salesperson or consultant does not walk you through a series of questions concerning you and your pain(s),...

I have been in the mattress industry about 5 years and like some of my colleagues (definitely not all) I find much more joy in having fewer exchanges and a greater number of phone calls from my clients 2-3 months after purchase saying, "I really am sleeping so much better! Thank-you!" To get to this point in my Sleep Consultant career, here is my method (which you should expect to take you 45 - 90 minutes depending on your needs, issues, differences of opinion between you and your partner, finances, etc.
- Triple Choice - Most mainstream stores set up beds in three's. A Firm, a Soft or Medium and a Pillow-Top. Finding which of these three you like best will help you eliminate 2/3 of the...

If you can get coil count and when it was manufactured, you can get much more accurate comparisons in a store near you.
If you are looking at Queen sizes and it has 660 coils and manufactured in the last year (or so) you can probably go into any store carrying the Posturepedic line-up and ask to look at their...

Hi Dallasgirl!
No I do not have said mattress. I had a Simmons (not pocketed coils) or maybe it was a Spring Air. Anyways, it was very firm with very little upholstery on top. I bought a talalay topper from foamorder.com and it slept great, for a few years.
The matress had sagged, the box spring had not, it looked like the springs had just compressed. I only paid 500. or so for the set and now sleep on a Serta perfect sleeper. I like the Serta, has just the right amount of padding (it was...

How long has the Luxe been available.
How long have you had the luxe and is it still feeling great.
We currently own the top of the line Simmons Beautyrest pillowtop for only 6 years and are experiencing such shoulder and back pain when sleeping.
Any comments are welcome - good and bad:)
Thanks!

I am in need of a new mattress. Been sleeping on a 20yr old Simmons Maxipedic "Caress" firm with a 1.5inch memory foam topper on top. (I know, I know, what the hell have I been waiting for so long!!!) I'm in my 50's, with chronic neck, shoulder, and some low back pain. I also wake up with headaches often. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and Osteoarthritis. I can't stand firm beds aymore, but don't want to sleep in a hamock either. I'm looking for something that will be soft enough to envelop my neck and shoulders, but firm enough to support my back. I am a side sleeper. I also have a pillow between my knees. My weight is 150 pounds and 5'6". I have also been playing musical pillows for my head...
