Plamarine, that is nice that SleepEZ is now sending comfortable covers so thank you for sharing.  The cover is one of the most important parts of the bed and I am glad I was able to fit my 1" topper under the zippered cover. There is room for another 1" with a tight fit but I like the way the fit is right now on my FloBed but I wish that FloBeds and SleepEZ would both offer toppers that have varying thicknesses since we are all so different in our needs. I also love my Brylane Topper since it was a little bit big (not too small like the cheaply made overstock 1" topper that fell apart on me) and I was able to cut it down to fit perfectly. It also has no seams and is all natural Talalay Latex.  One of the replacement toppers FloBeds sent me smelled...

Here are my thoughts:

1) It only says the 2" top is Talalay latex - not the core.  I wouldn't be surprised if the core isn't Dunlop (meaning probably not from LI).  This may or may not be an issue for you.

2) There are few choices in firmness levels.

3) There is no exchange policy for the layers that I could see - you should investigate this before making a decision.

4) If you don't like it, return shipping might be a hassle, but then again, might not be.

5) One of the other members here recently bought a topper from RMM and received a defective piece of latex, plus terrible customer service.

6) Price looks pretty good for...

You bought the organic mattress, the one made with 100% natural instead of blended Talalay?  Is the mattress cover woven or knit?  I put my daughter's new bedframe together today, and I sold her old bed and mattress at a garage sale this morning, so I need to get off my butt and order her a mattress.  I am thinking I'll order the Sleepez, then I'll have one from both Sleepez and Flobeds and can do a direct comparison.

I went to the new Sleepez site.  I must say, I consider myself almost an old pro at latex because I've been immersed in latex research for a good 5 months or more now . . . but I'm more confused than ever about blended vs 100% natural Talalay latex.  Sleepez seems to promote blended Talalay pretty heavily on their website  . . . . Flobeds doesn't promote 100% natural quite as agressively but they do seem to come down solidly in the 100% natural camp.

I'm tempted to try the Sleepez mattress for my daughter.  It's about the same price as the Sam's Club Dunlop mattress, so I can get the Talalay I prefer at a price comparable to the Dunlop.

There are differences between the Flobeds and Sleepez mattresses.  The Sleepez seems to come in 8.5", 10" and 13" models, the Flobeds comes in...

Cityskies,

After reading and re-reading your posting it just makes me more afraid to try anything new.  My back and hips do not like the latex toppers over my spring mattress.  Do you have a latex topper over your spring mattress now?  What ILD would you use if you were to try again 32ILD in blended talalay?  If Natural Talalay didn't agree with you wouldn't Dunlop also not agree with you?

The construction of the slats doesn't sound so good for over $700 in my opinion. Now I am back to square one.  I want to see and buy locally after hearing this, but unless I bought a very expensive Natura at Sears that is all I can come up with in the ideas for buying locally.

Hi Leo,

I'm sorry for the delayed response – I haven't been on the forum in a few days. I thought I'd answer your questions on the public boards in the event my answers are helpful to others.

My Flobeds' Euro Slat foundation was indeed a Queen size. I didn't notice the bar in the middle, but it was beneath 11” of latex and I'm relatively light. However, when I set up the two sides of the bed differently in terms of latex layers/ILD and happened to lie across both sides of the bed (i.e., with one part of my body on one side and the other part of my body on the other side), I couldn't feel the different ILDs on each side but I woke up in major pain. The...

Thanks for being the only one so far to chime in with some advice. I believe I saw one of your previous posts about he Ergomotion 400. I had downloaded their brochure and installation manual because of that. Looks like a good unit. And, if the price is low enough, I will consider it. However, I do prefer to avoid Made in China goods on the rare occasion that I actually have that choice. The L&P is made in US. (Although, the parts are probably Made in China, anyway.)

Is the Ergo quiet? Does yours have the DC motor, massage, and wireless remote? Do you recall what Mancini might have been asking for the Ergo 400 in split king size?

Did you get a chance to try any of those mainstream latex models in the stores...

thinner sheets of latex will typically break in/down a little bit faster than a thicker core, much in the same way that shredded rubber pillows although very comfortable do not stay resilient for as long as a solid core pillow.

I'm sorry for resurrecting this oldish thread, but it's so informative and I'm too lazy to start a new thread. So,  budgy, maybe you'll see this.  You said the above in response to someone who had some compression only a month after sleeping on a new bed.

I was almost ready to order a SleepEz 10,000 but am having serious doubts after reading this. Now I'm wondering if maybe I should reconsider, and go with something with a 6" Dunlop core. For instance, Foam Source sells those. The reasons I crossed that off my list was that...

No, I bought the blended Talalay, but they sent me the organic cotton cover since they were out of the regular ones.  Good for me, and it cost me nothing extra.
