it seemed like a good bed

Difficult to comment without knowing the specific component configuration of "it"?  Miralux probably offers numerous mattress variations . . reviews.

Do a Miralux search on the previous forum . . link (change default parameter to "all posts").

Keep in mind that mattress components are constantly changing, so the experience of others may be like "comparing apples to oranges"....

"As for the rest of your rant - I think people distinguish latex manufactured from stuff that comes from trees as opposed to stuff made from petroleum. Sure, nothing is 100% anything but 97% is a lot different than 20% or 40% from the plant source. Anyone who can read can figure that out. And, of course all latex is man made in the sense that you can't go into a forest and chop down raw slabs of latex to sleep on. People with chemical senitivities might want to go as far from something like memory foam as possible. "100% Natural Latex" might be a marketing term and not absolutely, literally accurate but the term does distinguish it from latex that is blended with petroleum products in a specific ratio and products that have a lot of cheap fillers that affect the quality and texture of the latex. Some sources...

Update: I'm still waiting on my 2" 32 ILD latex from FBM - they said they were waiting on their latex order to come in and that it would ship Friday, but I never received a tracking number...I'm sure it hasn't shipped yet. They were really fast to ship when I ordered my PU foam. I should have my case from FoamOrder on Thursday and will report on that when I get it. I'm still sleeping on 4" Lux and 3" HD36 and it's very firm!

I went to Costco this weekend with my almost 2 1/2 year old Sealy Fenway and they took it back with no problems. I probably could've told them I didn't like the color anymore and that would've been okay. They really do back up what they sell....

Thank you so much for your replies.  I am going to the mattress store tommorrow and going to check it all out.  I had done some research and found that the latex pillowtop is the best.  Who makes a mattress with a latex pillowtop?  For some reason, I think I remember the sales guy telling me that the pillow top was latex but I am going to make sure before I buy.  The Sealy Influence that we had did not have a pillowtop and it was a very HARD mattress.  I did buy a really thick pillowtop mattress cover for it but hubby still did not like it.  I just don't want to end up buying another hard mattress.

Thanks again!!!!1...

Need to buy a new mattress - LauraA

HI, I am new to the forum.  Hubby and I bought a Sealy Influence king size mattress a year and a half ago and it was a very firm mattress.  Hubby did not like it.  We have given that mattress set to our 14 year old son.  Two weeks ago, hubby and I went and bought a Select Comfort 5000 king size bed.  I HATE it.  Hubby likes it, doesn't love it but he likes it much better than the Sealy.  The select comfort I feel is a glorified air mattress and it is hurting at the top of my spinal cord along my shoulder area.  I called Select comfort today and they are coming to get it in about a week.   Testing that mattress is costing us about $400.

Now I am in search of a new mattress set.  I went to a Serta store and really didn't like...

Help side-sleeper choose a latex topper to ease hip numbness on firm innerspring mattress. 2" or 3"? 16-18 ILD (medium-soft) or 26 ILD (medium-firm)? - jkozlow3

I have a pretty firm ("cushion firm") innerspring Sealy mattress that I've owned for 9 years and I often wake up with hip numbness (I'm a side sleeper).

Anyway, I was considering getting a 2" or 3" latex topper unless someone has a better suggestion.  I don't know which height is best or what ILD range I should be looking at to soften things up a bit.  I don't want to "sink in" and I don't want something that conforms to my body and makes me hot or doesn't breathe well, so that's why I thought a latex topper would be a good choice (correct me if I'm wrong).

I'm 160lbs.  Again, this is going on top of a pretty firm innerspring mattress and my main objective is to relieve pressure points - particularly in my hips.

Several sites seem to offer the same line of latex toppers in both 16-18 & 26 ILD. ...

We still love the mattress after a couple of nights. I am REALLY glad we got the soft top layer. It is really quite firm. Most companies do call a 30 ILD a Medium or even Medium/Firm. And we did try both sides of the the pieces of latex and prefer the soft side up. I had my husband's side with the firmer side up and my side with the soft side up for a little while to see if we could tell the difference. There was a slight difference but enough to bother making both sides with the soft side up. We left the bottom firm layer with the firm side up and put the soft side up for the middle and top layers.

I don't know if Talalay is like this - but the Dunlop has sort of a skin or “crust” like bread around the uncut surfaces. The...

Miralux vs Sealy - hoffslim
Jan 13, 2008 5:39 AM
So I went to Sleepy's the other day to find a mattress and i was kind of set on a Sealy.  While there, the salesman pointed out the Miralux brand that he said they had "overstocked".  He explained that it is a higher end mattress and that is why i have probably never heard of it.  It was very comfortable and because it was overstocked it was %40 off which made it cheaper than the Sealy.  My question is, has anyone heard of Miralux and do they have a good reputation?  Up until that day i have never heard of it but it seemed like a good bed just wasn't sure if he was trying to unload some crappy mattress on me. ...
