I'm glad I didn't read the reviews before purchasing my Novaform gel foam mattress topper because I had none of the issues others seemed to have.

>My back feels better!
>I don't have trouble turning over, as I have silky pjs--even in winter--cuz I dislike having to adjust covers that stick to night clothes!
>There was NO smell whatsoever? ...and my husband has a VERY sensitive nose. We also put the mattress cover we had over the top of it simply because it was semi-new.
>Fit our bed perfectly...and we have a pillowtop mattress to begin with!
>Put it on mid-afternoon and it was ready for us at bedtime.
>Cooler than our old memory foam topper. --wouldn't go back to it if you paid me. Memory foam was TOO hot.
>The best $149.99 I ever spent.
>Seriously considering buying 4 twin sizes for my grandkids for Christmas!
>I actually look forward to crawling into bed just for the sheer comfort that awaits me.
>My son and daughter-in-law were visiting from Oregon. When they went home, they bought one for themselves.

I love it, love it, love it!

Sorry the rest of you had a bad experience...guess I lucked out.

...After posting and reading others' comments and what they paid for it, I went back and checked my paperwork. It does not say anything about being the "Elite" model. In fact, for what it's worth...it simply says: "novaform by Sleep Innovations gel memory foam.

This must be absolutly one of the worst mattresses on the planet. I know a previous reviewer stated it felt like sleeping on a sack of flour and I had to think about that for a minute to compare the two...after a few minutes I honestly think the flour would be better. It comes wonderfully packaged in a vacuum sealed box resembling an oversized cofee bag. When you finally make it through all the layers of cryovac, dont hold your breath because it took 5 days for it to expand to a fairly decent size. Even after the long wait, the corners are still compressed and the bed feels like a fresh slab of asphault; stiff, uninviting, and smelly.

Undoubtedly, the bed is going back ASAP and I recomend that anyone considering this mattress for whatever reason, reconsider!

I bought this mattress from Costco last month on sale. It was conveniently packaged and fit in the trunk of my car. Waiting for it to inflate after cutting it open was another matter. It never did fully inflate and there was a hard ridge down the middle of the mattress that ran from the head of the mattress to the foot. I called Sleep Innovations and after sending them some items, they sent me a replacement mattress in a few weeks. After 72 hours it was MOSTLY inflated, although there were a few areas that weren't completly expanded (corners and a few areas on the edges). I slept on it for the first time last night and it was solid and uncomfortable. Very similar to laying on a sack of flour or sand. The mattress comes with a heavy inner wool-type layer of fabric around it, then the exterior cotton zip cover. I'll be removing the wool fabric tonite to see if that helps. If anything changes I'll update this rating.

Pros:

Convenient packaging. Great warranty service.

Cons:

Takes a long time to inflate...if it ever does. Smells bad for awhile. Hard as a rock.
