Their website raises my eyebrows:  No dealers?  No pricing?  Yet they have many "testimonials"?

Have you seen any of these mattresses in person, or just online?

It is connected to Relief Mart (click their BBB link and also look at the bottom of the page)

And the relief mart mattress division is Select-a-bed which is here  http://www.selectabed.com/tri-pedic.htm

This looks like some version of their tri-pedic with their ventilated holes. Neither site has any prices which I always find annoying.

I would find out what memory foam they are using (probably a Foamex Sensus or Aerus brand) and then compare their price with other mattresses using the same configuration (there are tons of them)

Only heard of them on line and didn't know if anyone has had purchased one or had 1st hand info. We are still debating between latex and memory foam as we study our options. We both have some lower back and shoulder problems. appreciate your comments.

I just bought one...will be delivered this week.  I'll let you know.

I've been sleeping on a sleep number..which I hate...bought this sight unseen because it's not supposed to sleep "hot".

***UPDATE***  March 2012

I contacted the manufacturer in an attempt to see if there was anything they could do for us. As usual, their customer service was second to none yes and they offered everything they could to make it right. We did end up ordering an upgraded topper, in addition to removing literally ANYTHING in between the sheet and the mattress. This included our mattress pad and even the nice bamboo cover the Tempflow mattresses are cased in. Just the second step made a huge difference in our nightly comfort and sleep quality while we waited for the topper to arrive. I was shocked by how restricting our mattress pad was making the mattress. Once we received the new topper, the difference was even more incredible. Now, we sleep soundly in any position! smiley I cannot tell you how relieved I was! Now any of our friends and family that come over and sit on our bed immediately "Oooh" and "Ahhh" as they sit down. @Doreen- I guess your topper idea worked!

@notsorry- of course we ordered a soft version of the mattress. That was the point of my review- that it was still hard. We went with the mid-grade soft mattress because we didn't have another thousand at the time due to everything that was going on to upgrade. We spent hours educating ourselves on the various types of mattresses and discussing with customer service which type would be best for us.

I would now recommend the Tempflow mattresses to anyone who is not on a budget. We just love it now and it doesn't make me hot like other mattresses. The technology is working!

August 2011 Review:

I know I'm about a year late to this post, but hopefully my review will help someone. We bought one of these mattresses sight-unseen and HATE it. We bought the medium grade which was around $2300 I believe. We went this route because of the professional review comparing it to the TemperPedic mattresses which conclude TemperFlow is exactly the same, except it keeps you cooler at a night (a must for me). Well, you do NOT "sink in" at all. It is like a padded brick. I can never find a comfortable position- side/back/stomach. We are in our late 20s and both wake up with back pain. Maybe it would be good for extremely heavy people, they might have more of a chance of sinking in, but I am 120 lbs and I just lay on the top of the brick all night. We had SO much going on in our lives in the last month of the 4 month trial that the trial period came and went and we missed the return policy. So we are buying another new mattress, but obviously are upsest about throwning 2Gs out the window.

I will say their customer service was excellent. That would be the only pro. The mattress took forever to get to our house, since they make them to order, and weighs a TON. It has no odor to it, so that's another pro. Bottom line, never buy a mattress you haven't laid on and tested yourself.

Katrina, instead of "throwing 2Gs out the window" have you considered getting some sort of topper to soften the feel of this bed? A good one might cost a couple hundred dollars, but better than a couple of thousand.

I can imagine it's a like a padded brick. Its the only safe guard the inventor has so as not to squish the layers together and blocking his much needed airflow.

In fact, i just read the patent on this mattress. He is primarily concerned with generating airflow between the layers. The fact that you move around should push air in all directions, and help alleviate the trasfer of heat out of the foam.

The problem is that when you are fast asleep you do not move around that much (Or should not).

The inventor has layered foam cut in channels on the bottom and punched holes through the top memory foam.

Just to punch memory foam with small 0.25" diameter holes is complex, and requires very specialised machinery, even the large foam manufacturers (apart from 2) do not have this piece of equipment.

Creating channels and gluing these layers together is also additional labor. I can really apreciate the work here.

Opportunity cost.

To get something, you have to give up something else.

The foams he uses are probably much firmer, so that the load (your body) does not compress each layer too much, which would result in blocking airflow.

Basically you are sacrificing comfort for added air flow.

Whlist I have not tried these beds, the person that wrote the patent in 2006, seems very passionate about his invention. He does primarily emphasize airflow, and not comfort.

To solve your problem, my 2 cents worth,  is to add 2" of  4 lb soft memory foam on top of his bed, and add a 1" of 19 ILD latex on top of the memory foam.

In this manner your bed will become nice and soft, and you will still benefit somewhat from the airflow being pushed upwards when you move around.

HOWEVER!

Deep in the night ...when there's little to no motion, the bed may heat up a tad more.

We LOVE our TempFlow mattress!  Most of the prior reviews are from people who don't own one.  The one person who did, said it was too hard--I don't know why they didn't order a softer model--they come in various degrees of firmness! We ordered medium and have never slept better!  Everyone gripes about ordering sight-unseen.  We did this because of severe allergies and chemical sensitivities.  Tried all the mattresses offered locally and ruled out the glorified air mattress, and the old-fashioned mattress/boxspring combos that hadn't suited us in the past.  Decided on a memory foam style but were leary of the "heat" factor AND most especially feared chemical offgassing.  Temp Flow sounded ideal so we ordered from California to be shipped to Indiana.  (even then, the price was lower than the local alternatives we tried). As for ordering sight-unseen, you can try out any brand memory foam to get an idea of the feel and choose a firmness level you like then just imagine the same basic thing only cooler and not stinky!  You get to choose the thickness and firmness you want.  The mattresses were delivered and set up for us.  The people we dealt with were overly nice.  They even held off delivery until our move-in date.  All this besides being  manufactured with environmentally friendly methods and wrapped in a cool bamboo zip cover!  That was over a year ago.  I sleep so well it is amazing!  No need to toss and turn.  I telll everyone if they want the best mattress, it's TempFlow.

I bought one!  I have had it for over a year now and LOVE it.  I used to have back problems; now I don't.

I had checked out the Tempurpedic beds in stores and they were very expensive so I searched on line for comparables.  I found the on-line site for Tempflow and phoned them.  I told them which Tempurpedic model I liked as well as what my preferences were and they assisted me in selecting a model.  The price was much less than Tempurpedic, likely because Tempflow is not as well known ('brand' names always cost so much more).  I got their best delivery package.  They moved my current bed where I asked them to, assembled the frame (I did get an adjustable), set up everything, taking the trash away with them and leaving my place clean.  There was no odor like I noticed with other memory foam beds I had checked out (I have a sensitve nose).  The person from the on line store followed up with me by email to make sure all was well.

There is only one 'con': the bed frame came with 7" legs, which is very high.  Be sure to state that you want the 3" or 4" legs when you make the purchase.  This has nothing to do with the mattress - it is strictly the frame that I purchased.  You can use your own frame or order from them.

I like it so much that I am planning on buying another for a guest room.
