My husband loves his heated full wave waterbed, and the heat is one of the features he doesn't want to give up. But in the summer we waste air conditioning costs because the bedroom gets so warm from the bed. Is it safe to put foam insulation panels under the heater and mattress and along the insides of the frame to reduce heat loss?

Sue.  I wouldn't put anything right on or under the heater other than what the bed maker recommends.  As far as putting foam around the outside that sounds like a fine idea.  Problem is, most of the heat is lost through the covers.  Mattdud
