I've been shopping for a new mattress (mine is at least 12 yrs old). Thought about Sleep Number and Tempurpedic but what I think I've settled on is a Sealy Posturpedic Hybrid which is half titanium coils and half memory foam with the cooling gel. It is very comfy in the store. I've chosen the firm one because I don't like the ultra plush pillow top stuff, too soft, especially when sitting in bed to read. But the mattress seems like the best of both worlds to me.

Questions: Has anyone else bought one of these? They are brand new with 25 yr. guarantee of replacement with 3/4 " dent or more.

Also, both stores I have been too they tell me that I MUST buy a mattress cover (150.00) that will keep out spills, dust mites etc because without one the warranty could be voided. I know this is a certain amount of sales pressure but it also seems to make sense for accidental spills on memory foam. Any ideas?

Thanks for any help!
