However, I do not want to buy that one because I do not like that it has velcro on it. When the velcro wears out, then what am I supposed to do?

Besides that, I don't think I'd ever use that functionality anyhow of rolling the layers across each other and whatnot.

Additionally, I do not like how the latex in the Vzone seems to be divided into sections like that because instinctually it looks to me like it would make it easier for the layers to rip apart over time.

So...what else should I buy from FloBeds?

I do not really understand the differences between the beds listed on their website.

I got the Posture Deluxe model.  I thought about getting the VZone, but .  . . . well I thought I'd have enough on my plate dealing with six latex variables (3 on each side) without the added complication of a zoned layer.

First night's report - whew!  the latex really smells.  I know this will dissipate quickly, it's not necessarily an unpleasant smell, nor is it overpowering, but it has a slightly sweet, rubbery smell.

I had to sleep my first night without the top convoluted latex layer, as Flobeds sent me a convoluted layer that's way bigger than queen size.  Even without the topper, the bed was quite comfortable to sleep on.  I did wake up with a killer backache, but I am attributing that to the fact that last night I had to upack all 8 pieces from their boxes myself, lug them up the stairs myself, take them...

I've been out looking at inner spring mattresses and noticed several brands that are using more and/or thicker springs in the middle third of the bed for additional support - essentially they are zoning with springs. Royal-pedic and Sealy Posturepedic both do this. I see the logic in this, as the middle third of the mattress definitely gets the most use. But I wonder if this is the right zoning (in general, and for me)?

I found some sources that say that this zoning scheme is good for side sleepers with wide shoulders and normal hips. Sounds good, I'd say thats me; but my feeling on the Royal-pedic was that my hips were really being pressed up, aka I felt pressure points on my hips. The bed I was...

I filled out Flobeds chart on their web site - the weight, level of comfort etc.

I wanted a soft surface and it gave me this:

bottom layer xfirm, layer above it xfirm and the v zone layer as xfirm!

I am confused, why would it give me xfirm layers and even vzone as xfirm?

my weight is 221 lbs. sleep on my sides, and age is between 40-49.

And I want a soft upper surface but I don't want to bottom out in the mattress either (well who does want to bottom out?)

and it is giving me vzone layer as x-firm? That would not be soft.

Someone please explain...

All I can say is... I LOVE MY FLOBED and I LOVED the service they provide.  That extra bit was worth it to me.  Also, I think the convoluted topper is a nice finishing touch and supposedly helps air flow with the latex.  I haven't slept without it or on the SleepEZ bed so I can't compare.  The FloBeds latex layers seem to be slightly larger in height as well, which accounts for some of the price difference and the mattress cover fabric really is superb.  Every time I change my my sheets (or a layer while testing! LOL)...I am amazed at the quality of it.  One more thing to consider is that FloBeds offers a VZone layer for back and side sleepers.  It has different firmnesses for different parts of the body.  We did get these and both my husband and I are in agreement that they were worth the...

Here's one more although slight difference....the FloBeds posture deluxe (blended) is 11 1/4" high and the SleepEZ 10000 is 10". So there is that extra inch or so of extra latex you are also getting.

I would also like to add...(and I haven't had a chance to post my final reviews of my FloBeds purchase as I have been slow at making the changes I needed (and busy at work!) but have been busy tweaking my mattress finally for the past few weeks and will provide that input shortly) ....but there just aren't enough exemplary words that I can say about the service I received from Dave at FloBeds.  I have made several exchanges, and without putting him on the hook here wink, all I will say is that Dave has been more than generous with shipping charges,...

Hi,

I got tired of springs popping up in my back in very expensive beds and just recently changed to Latex.  I got an all natural Talalay latex bed by FloBeds.  I highly recommend you take a look at their site.  Their VZone lets you customize the support to how you need it for the different parts of the body.  I put a firmer layer in my lumbar area to support my lower back pain.  So, I feel for your pain and thought you should know that my husband has several herniated discs in his cervical spine with lots of other associated issues and has been going to physical therapy for the past two months to strengthen the area. Well, after about 10 days on his new bed...his physical therapist noticed a huge improvement in him without knowing he was sleeping on a new bed!  He feels a lot better since and once he...

You are right about the ILD's being different and Sleepez does not have a convoluted layer on top as far as I know.  Here are their ILDs:  http://www.sleepez.com/mattresscomponents.htm

My feeling is that 22 ILD is not soft enough for a side sleeper with my weight (or yours) unless your dimensions for the hip and shoulders (and waist?) are fairly close to being the same.  I believe I have seen complaints about this on this forum in the past about Sleepez being too hard for side sleepers and I don't think they offer a softer "topper" if it is.  I found 22-24 ILD from them to be too "hard" for me but I'm old and more sensitive to the feel....believe me, I've tried many combinations using different products from Flobeds and Sleepez and SLAB.  I believe that I...

Thanks!

I am in email conversations with both Flobeds and SleepEZ. It looks like the cost of the Vzone (alone) is $1000! A queen in the Posture select (6" core + 2" topper) is $2k, the Posture Vzone (6" core + Vzone + 2" topper) is $3k.. looks like i'll be getting that on sale or a DIY..

How much weight do you place on the site recommendations? SleepEZ recommended S/M/F for me (top to bottom) and S/F/XF for my BF - but are their ILD's different than FloBeds who also rec M/F for me and F/XF for BF.?

EDITED: yes the ILD's are off,

flobeds recs M (28) / F (32) for me compared to

SleepEZ M (30-32) / F (38-40)...

am i overthinking ( i guess my...
