I agree with everything Budgy said. The flobeds software must be broken, you certainly do not want XFirm layers.

You really should call Flobeds and talk with them about your situation. You can get all the info you need in just a few minutes and there is no obligation to buy.

Many of the questions you are asking are impossible to answer. Only you can know whether you need this or that later, all anyone else can do is guess.

There is no certifiable research that shows that Natural Talalay is better than synthetic talalay to my knowledge, especially when comparing LI's talatech to natural talalay. I agree with Budgy, if the synthetic is a lot cheaper and if money is an issue you may want to go with that, that would be my preference. But then again I have not really tried or...

Jim,

You have had Talatech.  You had a Flobeds before, that is Talatech, I thought you had blended latex.  What latex do you have over your Dunlop now?  Isn't that from Latex International?  Or is it Radium, or ?

Personally, my opinion, is polyester filled pillows are dust magnets.  I like talalay latex pillows.  They have them in firm, and high profile, low profile, soft, etc.  I have every variety.

I have natural latex layers from LI.  I just wanted natural, it is a personal preference.  Time will tell how long it lasts.

I would never have memory foam again, yuck.

Everyone is different, everyone.

Does anyone have experience with foamdistributing latex? I was thinking about getting 6-8" from them for a base of their HD High quality 32-38ILD latex, and then getting 4 inches of Talatech latex for the top. My thoughts are that the base will not break down as fast as the top because it is not receiving nearly as much direct pressure being 4 inches below the surface. The 4 inches on the top will still be high quality soft latex.

I figure as finances allow and as the base breaks down we can replace it with something higher quality. Anyone have any thoughts...

Wife and I are both side sleepers and between 140-155lbs. I have shoulder problems and she has lower back problems. She likes a soft mattress and I am thinking that I do too. I enjoy a firm mattress when I lay on my back but 90-95% of the time I am a side sleeper.

I'm wondering if the 2nd 3" layer should be 32 ILD and if 6"...

We have 1.5" of 14ILD Talatech Blended as our top layer.  It definitely gives the super soft pillow-top feel.  For two nights I even doubled it up for my wife to seep on 3" of 14ILD and I was on 2" of FBM 20ILD (Both had 3" of 28ILD Talatech under that).  My wife, 5'6 110lbs, thought it was heaven, and I couldn't take it anymore after the second night because of pressure points. 14ILD definitely makes a huge difference over 20ILD.  14 is 70% of 20, so 14 is 30% softer than 20.  Or you could look at it as 20 is 143% of 14, so 20 is 43% firmer than 14.  Either way it is significant.  And I would guess your "Soft" top layer is probably 22-24.

Also, Radium makes a 16ILD that you can...

Initial results are in after two nights on the new  bed.  For the latex part we chose SleepLikeABear queen 1" of Celsion 15 ILD, 1" Celsion of 21 ILD, 2" of Talatech 28 ILD, 2" of Talatech 36 ILD.  And on the bottom the Froli Star system set up on closest positioning.  On my side I used less resistive (light blue) squares on my shoulder and hip areas.  Also in the lumbar area I put on a row of extra firming bands (red).  Result:  we both enjoyed our sleep, awoke feeling comfortable.  On the second night I was looking forward to going to bed, which is a change.

As this bed is in a boat our overhead clearance is about, maybe, 36".  So we limited our purchase to 6" of latex.  When we lay in any position we are very comfortable.  But, when we kneel or sit on...

I actually bought a "2-inch" Pure Latex Bliss Topper from http://www.stlbeds.com/parts-accessories.html .  It comes with a really nice feeling cover, but I have removed it because I feel that it is a little too small for the latex inside it.  14 is pretty soft, so the "stronger" stretchable cover tries to turn a 59"x79" piece of LI Talatech into a 57 x 77" piece.  When I removed the Latex, I found that it measures 1-5/8" in thickness.  Mine is Queen and was $299 with no return policy.  At SLAB, you can get the exact same latex, but in 2" for $314 and have no cover, but have a return policy.  Or, you can call SleepEZ and "special order" a 1.5" piece for $178 or a 2" piece for $290 (for whatever reason, SleepEZ has a huge price jump at 2") and also have a return policy (although, I am not sure...
layering latex - bribri

Would 3 solid inches of 19 ild talatech latex feel different to  3 layres of 1" 19 ild talatech latex on top of each other? My wife is a side sleeper  5' 0" 180lbs. our current set up is Sterns &Foster ZEN PURE(new) with 3' latex topper ( 22-25ild). This combo is not soft enough for her and Im thinking about returning the topper. SLAB recomends 3" of 19 ild talatech for her.our bed is a queen and if I buy 1' 19 ild I could fold in half and even tri fold  to try various thickness to see what works. Am I on the right tract or should I do something different.I am a stomach sleeper and find the toper we have now a little soft but just a little. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks Brian

I'm all over the place...

Now I'm thinking on getting a 100% latex mattress. I was thinking on going with talatech latex foam.

3" 36 ILD

3" 28 ILD

2" 24 ILD

1" 21 ILD Celsion Talalay Latex.
