Sorry to read about these troubles. Maybe if you work exclusively with the salesmen who are telling you they will give you another exchange....Let us know how it turns out, please!

They've already denied a refund on the exchange because the original mattress was purchased over 30 days ago.

This mattress is pressure relieving for sure, but I'm skeptical about spine support.  My neck doesn't hurt, but when I turn my head, I can hear my neck is not totally smooth.  Sure seems like my pillow is fine.  My pillow is a Tempurpedic Symphony which I've used for 3 years with no problems.  My head doesn't seem up to high.  It seems like maybe my hips are sunk in...

Pop quiz - what has everyone missed so far?

Tempurpedic has introduced 2 brand new bed models -  Tempur-Contour Select and Signature

The Tempur-Contour Select is $2,399 for the Queen set, lot less than Rhapsody.

I've tried the Select and tell you what, it's pretty darn good!  It's 10" mattress height, 2" more than regular Cloud.  It has a new cover, not like the original bed cover that mushes around.  It feels very supportive, and nice comfort.  6" base foam, 4" total memory foam.  And no, I don't work for a mattress store.  I tried it at Sleep Train.

The Deluxe bed is gone, discontinued.

Contour select is $1,850 for a twin XL set, that's just $400 more than reg Cloud.  Defintely check out the Contour Select.  The better stores have it now.

Well, I appreciate learning from your experience. Thank you for posting. You can probably sell it for close to what you paid if it's virtually brand-new. Someone else might really like it. Appreciate the heads up about Sears' exchange policy and selection, too.

Thank you for your encouragement.  We can learn from each other and beat the mattress biz at their own game :)

Did you receive any paperwork explaining the warranty when you purchased the mattress?  Do they have a written return policy somewhere online?  Otherwise, it's your word against theirs.

When you purchase a first mattress from Sears, the back of sales receipt states mattresses and home electronics are given 30 days for refund or exchange.  Stores have a sign stating 'Sears allows 1 time even exchange for another comfort level of your choice within 30 days'.

Both of these statements speak of what your options are for the first mattress, but they don't definitively say what the fate is for your 2nd mattress.

The correct way for it to be stated would be this -

Sears allows for a one-time exchange or refund* of your mattress within 30 days if you are not...

Hi, I started with a TempruPedic and now I a waiting for TempruPedic to come take it away and I will be replacing it with a Dr. Breus Bed.  Sleeping on the TempurPedic (cloud supreme) was like sleeping on a landfill.  The smell was unbearable and scary.  Then I find out the polymers are not exactly healthy to sleep on whether or not you can smell them they are still there.  My husband's back was still stiff after the first couple of nights.  So Timby I am very curious to find out how you are making out with the Dr. B mattress, I'd rather end up with a latex allergy then cancer (check out the blogs on polyurathene memory foam). My delivery of the Dr. B mattress comes in six days while my husband and I sleep on the pull out in the living room   I never thought...

Timby, I hope you'll keep us posted on how things go with your Dr Breuss bed.  Even though I didn't keep mine, I'm still curious as to whether or not others will have issues (impression in less than a month) or not.  I'm not as big as you, so you should know quickly.

Your bed must be really tall sitting on that water bed platform with drawers underneath?  I picture your wife needing a ladder to get on the bed.  All the Dr Breus beds I saw were very thick.  I got the low profile foundation when I got mine, and it was still pretty tall on my standard bed frame.

And you mentioned not being sure about utilizing other foams in conjunction with latex to keep costs down.....  I think...

Slpngoc, thanks for you great review. I am currently in a dilema where I have a warranty reselect pending at my local Jcpenny. Now they mainly have Pillowtops and then the iComfort Revolution. I know not to go with a pillowtop and they really do not have decent non Pillowtops. Now today I was informed that the iComfort comes with a 120 days comfort guarantee and if not happy I get my money back and not be forced to reselect. Not sure on this, I would have to see this in writing first.  Will see what to do.  Thanks again

Re: Sealy Posturepedic Mapleton Firm Euro Pillowtop - Hgiljr

Looks like I am stuck with a Pillowtop or the iComfort.  None of my local JcPenny has any decent non pillowtop mattress and since I am force to reselect with them I cannot go anywhere else. Now the sales person did tell me that I have a 120 day return policy on the iComfort Revolution and it would be a refund and not a reselect.  Any suggestions?

Extra Firm Mattress Options and Latex Q's? - eric_s
Jul 23, 2011 2:53 PM
In the market for a mattress and trying to understand the options.  Memory Foam and Latex were basically non-existent in the market when I last bought a mattress.  Yes, it's probably long over due for replacement.

Visited a nearby mattress store whose selection was primarily S/S/S . . . With the caveat that my back was bothering me today (occasional, but not typical) the mattress that felt best to me in the store was a Simmons World Class Corita Extra Firm with a Comfort Level Rating of 2.

Mattresses with memory foam as the primary material are more or less out due to heat retention concerns, can't stand being too warm when I sleep.

Interested in Latex, possibly even DIY.  Is any Latex mattress going to provide a similar feel to an Extra Firm Coil Spring mattress?  Or is it going to be...
