I found a Natura for $5,000 or more (queen size) from Sears.  Wonder if I can get that 50% off on their sales?

I am impressed with some of their products.  They do tell you what is in them, which I find refreshing!

Gardner mattresses click here look so fascinating.  They have pocket coils, and some with latex on top.  Some that have cotton batting only.  Just make sure you don't get one with the "foam" in it.  They will ship all over US, but what a fee that would be for me.

I, having once had very bad luck with a Simmons with pocket coils, have always been wary of them. For those of you who may have them, or Budgy, who knows about such things: Are pocket...

I think the reality of people realizing how lousy new SCo mattresses are made is just catching up with the mattress industry. It may be a while yet before everyone in the U.S. knows they are crappy, but that day WILL come if they don't change their ways. And when it does it is going to bite them on the behind, big time. I'm talking the potential collapse of the spring mattress industry.

My sister in law and her new husband went out and bought a new mattress, unbeknownst to my wife and I. She did not know of my interest in nor knowledge of mattresses so we didn't hear about it until after the purchase.

Then, she called her sister (my wife) and said how upset they were because they had just paid around $2k for a new mattress and as soon as they slept...

Yes, 3 years ago I bought my older daughter a new Simmons mattress as part of a bedroom renovation.  It was so cushy and comfortable!  But it wasn't long before it developed a giant, and I mean GIANT, crater in the middle where she sleeps.  I no longer have the receipt for the mattress (who knew they were making cheap crap? I assumed it would last 15 years like the Simmons mattress we had on our bed) and so I can't file a warranty claim.

So I understand your fears about buying a new mattress, believe me, I had them too.  In fact, the ONLY reason I broke down and ordered one was the fact that I had a fight with CC mattress and they came and picked it up - leaving my husband and I with NOTHING to sleep on and leaving me with a husband whose...

I turned my convoluted topper over so the hills and valleys are facing down. The topper never actually bothered me though, and when I had it facing up, I couldn't feel the hills and valleys.

To the person who isn't sure about the wook in the cover:  if you get a traditional cover, it will have a PU fill with flame retardants in it.  Wool is a natural flame retardant, and a natural repellant for bedbugs and mites.  It will keep you cool in the summer and warm in the winter.  Wool is really wonderful stuff!

My old bed I had before I replaced it with the Flobed was a Simmons (before they went to the dark side and started using cheap PU foam).  It was a traditional spring mattress with wool fill.  For 15 years it was the most wonderful, supremely comfortable mattress, until it...

It is hard to say.   The Sealy has interlaced springs, so that may provide a firmer support.  However, the cheaper ones use thinner gauge and less springs, so you almost have to buy one of their more expensive ones (in my opinion).  Simmons and S&F has independent pocketed coils.  Those can conform more to your body, but they have to be a bit thicker gauge and more coils to provide as much support as an interlaced.  There might be an issue of longevity for the pocketed coils as wells, since there seems to be some risk of them shifting around.

I have tried all brands in the store and they all have a model that is very firm version if you can find it.

I have a Sealy Reseve (second highest model in their lineup - same number of coils as their top of the line). ...

Hi Gary,

I don't have an opinion about the latex bed that comes with the Leggett and Platt adjustable, but I can give you a small amount of info that I've found.

Latex in the Northern CA area:

Mancini's has Englander, Mattress Discounters (owned by Sleep Train) has Simmons Natural, and most of the rest have Vera Wang. Also you could call Connolly's Furniture in Fremont and see what they carry - (510) 656-2880.

I do own an ErgoMotion 400 adjustable bed from Mancini's which cost me 1200.00. I love it! It is quiet, and a wall hugger and I have had no problems with it at all. I was using it with my TP Cloud Supreme. I later returned the Cloud and am now using the Ergo with a FloBed.

Hi everyone!

I have been a long time lurker and this is my first post.

Let me share my story with you first as to why I am not asking for a latex or memory foam mattress (which would be my choice).

A year and a half ago my fiance and I bought a new Spring Air Four Seasons Ultra Plush mattress from J.C. Penny.  We spent about $1,300 for the mattress and loved how amazing it felt in the store.  Prior to this, I had a Plush Sealy Posturepedic that was about 10 years old and still was great, but when we moved in together I sold my furniture as my cal king bedroom set was too big for the bedroom.  Since my plush Sealy Posturepedic was so comfortable and durable, we though that an ultra plush Four Seasons would be the ultimate luxury.  Oh...

The Intellicoil are individual pocketed coils and their are 600 of them in a queen set, The only way that coil unit will benefit you is if you weigh over 430 pounds! Thats how much pressure it takes to go thru all the padding and get down to the inner coil, I have sold Sterns and Foster and this is by far the most beautiful line up they have ever had but their also the worst value out their, If your looking to spend that type of money I would suggest a Simmons Black Lable, I have sold them both for years and I have found that the blacks hold up a lot better and are much more benificial to your health.

Hey everyone,

Buying a new bed has to be one of the most annoying purchases around.  I have spent so much time trying to gather info and I just can't get a real consensus on anything.  I was set in my mind to buy a plush pillowtop king mattress.  I went to Sleep Country Canada and put down a deposit on a Simmons Beautyrest Classic High Loft Pillowtop with Wool and Memory Foam.  It feels wonderful in the store and I'm sick of sleeping on firm surfaces at home and my back is killing.  But now I've been to a ton of other stores and talked to a lot of sales people and have been reading reviews on the internet and it seems that a lot of actual buyers who have had their pillowtops for more than a few years hate them now and say they sink and...
