Too much PU or Poly foam = junk that will break down quickly and cause back pain.
They don't make mattresses like they used to, 15 years ago....

In terms of your 32 natural piece, it is probably cheaper at rockymountainmattress, but I don't believe you can return to them. So, only buy if you are pretty sure. RMM also sells 24 ILD in the talalay, and they 26 and 17 in dunlop.
I haven't bought any of the latex toppers from overstock, but from what I have read, it is a bit of a crap shoot in terms of what you end up getting. Personally, I prefer talalay on the top, but I like a fairly plush feel for side sleeping. As noted before, dunlop tends to feel...

Latex is hard to find where I live (Calgary) but I'm willing to go mail order to try it if it's really worth the effort. I might be in the market for a new mattress set or just a new mattress and keep the existing foundation. Or I might just add a topper to my existing mattress set (15 year old Sealy Posturepedic Presidential contractor/hotel Plush) if I can confirm that the springs and foundation are actually still OK and likely to last another 10 plus years. Either way, I'd...

I have been a long time lurker and this is my first post.
Let me share my story with you first as to why I am not asking for a latex or memory foam mattress (which would be my choice).
A year and a half ago my fiance and I bought a new Spring Air Four Seasons Ultra Plush mattress from J.C. Penny. We spent about $1,300 for the mattress and loved how amazing it felt in the store. Prior to this, I had a Plush Sealy Posturepedic that was about 10 years old and still was great, but when we moved in together I sold my furniture as my cal king bedroom set was too big for the bedroom. Since my plush Sealy Posturepedic was so comfortable and durable, we though that an ultra plush Four Seasons would be the ultimate luxury. Oh...

It's crazy, but my wife and I just "retired" a 15-year old Sealy Posturepedic queen mattress and boxspring set. It was flippable and still slept pretty darn well. Despite it being a pillowtop, there are no visible craters or depressions in it. Crazy. Guess they just don't make 'em like they used to.

About 27 months ago, I bought a Sealy Posturepedic Gray Haven Cushion Firm (twin XL set with box spring) from Art Van. I slept okay for a year or so, but since, I've been waking up after about 5-6 hours from low and middle back pain, and my arms some times fall asleep. Matress does not show visible impressions, but my hips drop when I lay on this matress, and it's killing me.
I purchased a 1½" thick Dunlop latex topper from Overstock, and placed it on top of this matress. Overall, I liked the feel, springy and supportive. I kept the topper for about a month, and returned it - still having back trouble. I then tried a 1" thick Latex International 24 ILD Talatech topper from Sleep Like a Bear (great service). I bottomed this out, so I returned this as well.

Right after we bought it, we were at the beach for three nights on a springy older coil mattress. Last year on this same mattress, I had a hard time. This year, I brought along the Tempur-Pedic pillow that came with our new mattress, and my sleep was MUCH better. I don't think I will leave the house without this pillow again!
OK, so we're back home, and have spent three nights on the new mattress. The name "Cloud" is a misnomer - to me, it feels more like sleeping on Play-Doh. I have been waking up a little stiff; but on the plus side, my vertebrae don't need to "pop" in the morning as with other mattresses. Also, I don't toss and turn as much. But I do not...

I had spinal fusion surgery for scoliosis when I was 13, and have had back issues (shoulder, neck, and low back/hip areas) off and on ever since. I see an excellent chiropractor about every month or so (Gonstead school) to manage flareups. I cannot sleep on any kind of air mattress or sofa without feeling wrecked - I'm better off on a padded floor. My husband doesn't have back trouble and can sleep pretty much on anything. I weigh about 105 lbs and he weighs about 170.
