I resonate with your question. Unfortunately I cannot help specifically, but I'll share what little I've been learning. I ran across an interesting article yesterday that provides atleast a relative understanding of how different mattress toppers might compare. see the following link: http://www.beddingcomponents.com/pdf/innersprings/softech-chart.pdf

I'm aware that most manufacturers evaluate warranty claims by how much change there is in the height of the bed where it has broken down the most. For foam type mattresses the standard threshold appears to be 3/4 of an inch of dip compared to a string held taught from the head of the bed to the toe. (I'm told they just use a short length of 3/4 in diameter PVC pipe.) For innerspring mattresses the standard is typically 1.5 inches.  Unfortunately however, the height to which the...

I didn't know that the OMF Latex mattresses were only 95% Talalay organic latex & were 5% Polyurethene chemical foam & that that foam will degrade much faster.  I was told they were 100% organic Talalay latex.  I agree that is a disappointment.  I also agree that a 20 yr warranty is a lot longer than a 12 yr.  I doubt that ANY mattress would actually last 20 yrs without dipping in the middle, but that a 20 yr warranteed one would still last longer than a 12 yr.

I don't know.   I guess I'm off the idea of latex.  Some people say latex also sleeps hot, like Tempurpedic foam does.  So, I don't know what to do.  I'm thinking I may just get an OMF Orthopedic Ultra Plush (not a pillowtop, but still soft feeling top).  It's only $779 for a Queen...

Latex overload! - ena1214

I have been researching for about 3 months now and recently came across this forum on latex mattresses. I think after reading all the information avail on this forum and my research I may know more about latex mattresses then the sales person but I still can't decide which is the best. I tried the Pure bliss mattress at Xpress-matress retail store they offer to sell me the king size latex 10" mattress, foundation, 2- latex pillows, king latex topper and the bed frame for $3400.00, they claim its all 100% Talalay.

I seen the trends on the FBM and the Foam factory and the prices are about half! but I have to order online without trying it out and having to trust a sales rep on the quality of the latex. I have come up with some options and so far only seen the one on Mattress.net. I am hoping if anyone...

Re: Has anyone bought a NexGel Mattress? - intellibedfan

NexGel is not the same as intelli-gel. NexGel and Orthogel are a foamed version of the original intelli-gel. The inventor, Edizone LLC developed the foamed version of the gel after losing a lawsuit where they tried to put the original licensee for intelli-gel (advanced comfort technologies, Inc. which commercialized the gel in the intelliBED line of mattresses) out of business . They also marketed the My Comfort line of mattresses using the foamed gel. 3rd party testing shows that intelli-gel lasts 2-3 times longer than any of the foams including memory foam, latex and the foamed gels. There is a lot of confusion about people thinking they bought the original intelli-gel mattresses from intelliBED but they bought the foamed gel mattresses instead. The people at intelliBED work hard to help the people who were fooled into buying a foamed gel mattress thinking it was an intelli-gel mattress. Visit intelliBED.com for...

I went in to a local store and found out that the other Original Mattress Factory is out of Texas. The salesman was very informative and not at all pushy. My husband and I went into another local store and the salesman was also very informative. Both gave some of the same info, but I learned new things at both stores.

We are leaning towards the Orthopedic Eurotop --- or the latex foam on the Leggett&Platt adjustable base.

If anybody has either model and can offer feedback, I love to read it.

Thank you!

I recently purchased from OMF (originalmattress.com). I purchased the Orthopedic Ultra Firm to replace an 11 year old cratered mattress. http://www.originalmattress.com/orthopedic/comfort-choices#orthopedic_ultra_firm  I do like it and the lower back pain I was experiencing is going/has gone away. That said, I am planning to add a topper of some sort to it as I do side sleep some and as expected, the ultra firm is firm. Now, it's only 10 days old so I can't tell you how it's going to hold up over the course of a few years :>

In addition to the purchase price + tax, I paid a $38 delivery fee and $10 removal fee for my old set.

Need to add a topper to my new mattress - suggestions? - texasniteowl

Hello everyone. I am new to the forums but have browsed a little bit. However, it's a little bit overwhelming :>

I have recently, last weekend!, replaced an 11 year old mattress that had definite cratering, with a new firm spring mattress.  (Original Mattress Factory Orthopedic Ultra Firm - queen).

The good news is that the lower back pain that I had been experiencing just getting out of bed does seem better so far.  The bad news is I think a bit of cushioning is needed.  I am a restless sleeper...have always tossed and turned and changed positions.  I do seem to end up sleeping on my side (and sometimes stomach) a fair bit and this is where the Ultra Firm could use a little help. But at least the crater is gone (and honestly I should have replaced the mattress at least a year ago.)

Just purchased the Ergomotion 400 in a split king configuration. The base is very solid and heavy. The mattresses are latex twin XL's from SleepEZ - Select Sleep 10000 in natural dunlop - soft over medium over firm. Love it! Purchased the Ergo from Ortho because they were local, could deliver and setup next day, and beat the best online price I found. Did test drive the L&P Prodigy at Sit & Sleep and it is very nice too...more bells and whistles than the Ergomotion - longer extended warranty, preset favorite positions, alarm, and body wave massage.

Thanks for your response, Sandman. The Cloud is like a mattress (at least what I think of when I think mattress) that is sewn, with the corded edges (don't know exactly what that may be called), not zippered, so I can't look inside unless I start taking it apart. I've thought about doing that to see what it looks like. Perhaps the polyester was like a batting that wrapped around the latex?

Do you just look at the innerspring and box spring to see if they look to be sagging? Our bed frame does have the middle (5th) leg. It's a queen-sized bed.

My husband and I went to Original Mattress Factory. We were impressed to see what everything looks like inside. We liked the Orthopedic Premier Super Pillowtop and the Latex Foam (both flippable mattresses, which I would prefer to get, thinking it would last...
