Hi,

If you can give us the coil count and specs or more info we might be able to tell you more about your Simmons mattress. First of all, what size? Queen or Full or ?

I may be wrong but I think Simmons' line is "Classic" then "Anniversary" then "World Class". But I'm not sure if that transfers from store to store or not. Also I was doing some shopping myself and I know they are coming out with new ones this month. If you are buying an older model you should be able to get a cut-rate deal.

Yes, by all means ask for and get free delivery.

170 lb should be okay for most mattresses, that's not that much. When you generally have problems is when one is over 200 lb.

Basically you get what you pay...

Double tempered sounds a little gimmicky for pocket coils...technically you can only temper steel once.  Sometimes interactive coils are listed as double tempered as the coils are tempered individually and then the whole innerspring system gets baked later on so that the helical wires and border wires, etc, can all be tempered as well.  Higher gauge technically means thinner wire...perhaps they meant lower gauge but did not articulate this correctly.  And I find it incredibly hard to believe that the coils are actually nested by hand if there is a foam encased edge.  I would ask them how their coils are held together.  If the fabric pockets themselves are glued together one to the next...then it isn't hand nested.

I tried doing some searching Jim and I couldn't find anything.  Only a review on this website (or thread rather) and...

I agree with everything Budgy said. The flobeds software must be broken, you certainly do not want XFirm layers.

You really should call Flobeds and talk with them about your situation. You can get all the info you need in just a few minutes and there is no obligation to buy.

Many of the questions you are asking are impossible to answer. Only you can know whether you need this or that later, all anyone else can do is guess.

There is no certifiable research that shows that Natural Talalay is better than synthetic talalay to my knowledge, especially when comparing LI's talatech to natural talalay. I agree with Budgy, if the synthetic is a lot cheaper and if money is an issue you may want to go with that, that would be my preference. But then again I have not really tried or...

Hi Budgy, I got this from the Ortho web site but as with most mattress co's they don't go into great detail about things:

But here's my question for you:

Out of Stearns & Foster and Simmons which do you think is the better coil design?

S&F's higher end uses an Intellicoil design (spring within spring, the spring in the center is a light gauge spring and the outer spring is heavier gauge.) Intuitively this looks like a great design but ?? Do you have any feedback or experience on it?

Simmons' higher end has 2 options: Either a higher coil count of up to 1000 and/or a dual coil system with a lighter gauge indiv....

Sterns and Foster Latex - where are they?! - esil19

Hi All ~

I am interested in finding a few specific Sterns and Foster mattresses in Northern California. I was in Southern Ca and through process of elimination was told of some good possible mattresses for myself that I have listed below. I wasn't able to see them and I wanted to ask if anyone can help or give me advice as to how to locate them up here, for I haven't been able to. I had gotten the Simmons Black Series Carrissa (from Mancini's), which is with the NxG Memory Foam, but boy does it heat up. Because of my skin sensitivities I am looking for latex and I'm told that the few listed below are.

I appreciate all the help...

I have been doing some research and trials and this is what I found

the very best /high end beds seem to be made of Pocked springs and Nautral materials in the comfort layers

Examples

A) Pocketed springs and Horsehair/cotton ( Hastens)

B) Adjustable Pocketed springs and latex layers ( Duxiana 12:12 )

C) Adjustable Pocketed springs with various firmness in  Latex layers ( Carpe diem )

The dr breus beds( latex and polyfoam and expensive )  that I tried at home were vastly inferior to my simmons worldclass with a layer of latex and ployfoam in the comfort layers, this breus bed is very inconsistent in feel and have soft spots on the mattress

I am sure a few layers of Talalay latex from Sleepez or flo beds can make a comfortable bed but will...

Need help finding an equivalent mattress... - sbt99

I bought a Simmons Beautyrest Clifton Plush mattress (full size, M12617.20.7064) many years ago while I was in school, and need help navigating through the mannufacturers' maze of mattress names to find something like it in a Cal King size. I've since gotten married -- my wife and I have been through at least a mattress a year looking for something just like it, but I end up sleeping on it every now and then still, just for comfort. :( Any ideas on where to go for help? (Simmons hasn't been very helpful) I'm almost to the point where money is no object -- I've got to find one!...
Simmons Beautyrest Pemberton - npolite

Hello All,

I'm looking at purchasing a Simmons Beautyrest Permberton Mattress from Macy's. The price appears to be $899. Does anyone know if there are any negatives to this mattress or reviews? If anyone knows the equivalent to it in a different retails chain I would appreciate telling me so I can check the reviews on it. Does the price seem decent? All of the $400-500 mattresses seem to cave in when I sleep on them and I'm 170 lbs. Also does anyone know if you make a little noise if they will offer free shipping? $70 seems like alot for a $900 mattress. Should I wait for Memorial Day to see if the sale will be better?

Thanks
