Is Macy's Hotel Collection the same mattress as the Ultra Plush from The Sleep Shoppe ? - chelliep
Apr 13, 2010 12:37 PM
We originally ordered the Englander Soft Touch made from Dunlop Latex and it was too soft... so we exchanged it for what the Sleep Shoppe calls the Stearns and Foster Oasis series Saybrook model.  I asked what was inside it but  they said they don't know.. just that it's latex..  I looked at Macy's and this looks exactly like the mattress we bought... it's the same height and they both say it's Ultra Plush although it's firmer than the other Oasis model S&F the Sleep Shoppe carries. The cost is about the same so..is there any way to know if it is indeed the same mattress ??  It's being delivered Friday..  It's firmer than the Englander without being hard..and it doesn't feel "soft", whatever that means.  Outside of the Temperpedic and other Memory Foam mattresses... this S&F was the firmest latex mattress in the store..

Hi,

I have the chance to get all of these mattresses at a very good deal because they are all floor models with slight imperfections (mostly being stains or something). All are new(minus the floor model part) but do not come with warranties. can anyone tell me if any of these mattresses are worth looking at? thanks. All of them are around the same price for me. Only reason im looking at these is because I cannot afford to spend over $500 at the moment because I have college bills to pay. thanks for any help

okay, back to where I have confusion. The 2 replies have confused me again.

One says memory foam is best, other says latex.

I understand sleepez does not have retail stores, why are they not selling in retail stores?

If they are selling in retail stores, please tell me which ones. I can see flobeds ad here too, does it sells in retail stores where I can test If I like the product?

Apperciate help.

roy1, there is no one answer. It is a highly individual thing. It's as if you're asking, which is better, oranges or apples?

Some people with back pain will like Tempurpedic and some will like latex. Personally I think you should go with Flobeds or...

Hey guys, I'm brand new to the website and to mattress buying in general. I spent about the last 15 years of my life sleeping on the same futon since elementary school so anything to me will be a great upgrade. I just bought a Stearns & Foster Hearthstone Firm II full sized bed and I like it but I want to give the latex a try. Thanks to you all I just ordered a queen sized Sleep Science 10" bed with the matching foundation. After spending $1000 on headphones and $1300 on this bed my wallet is so light that it's almost floating off my desk right now as I type this . I can't wait to lay down on this mattress and I hope that I made the right decision. It seems like a win / win situation especially since if...
Re: want to build my own bed. where can I buy a coil system in a box? - olenska

Cotton felt and cotton batting are not the same thing. cotton felt is used in upholstery. looks to be about 1/2 inch thick. In the cutaway I saw for the Shifmans, they used 8 to ten inches thick of cotton felt. a whole lot. the comfort layer - dacron, wool, latex combination - was on top of that. Cotton felt is sold in rolls. I saw it on ebay but you could buy it from anyplace that sells upholstery materials or from a shop that does it. as for the coils, you remember correctly. I read the same threads. I just looked at a 5 year old simmons. coils were worthless.had been "firm" but felt like mush. I also looked at a 10 year old handmade  shifman. coils in both the mattress and box were shot. had originally been an extra firm and now bounced like a trampoline. coils in...

Re: Tempurpedic "Cloud" Mattress??? - Sleepless46628

Just ordered my Cloud Supreme after trying their whole line on a few trips to some local stores. I am a 47 old male that is 6'2" 300lbs with a back fusion. Also I am a side sleeper that often awakes with hip pain sleeping on a eight year old stearns and foster. (back pain is not a nightly issue) So I have read some concerns with this bed for heavier people, so I will update with my experience after I get the first thirty nights on it.

New bed on the horizon. - TheOC

I have been lurking on this forum for about six months, since my wife has agreed to a new mattress set.  We bought a Stearns & Foster pillowtop eight years ago.  Needless to say, the pillowtop has cratered on my side of the kingsize bed and my wife's side is only marginally better.  We are heavier than any of the people that have posted their weight on this forum; I weigh about 360 lbs and my wife is about 280 lbs.  I am strictly a back sleeper while my wife sleeps primarily on her side, although she occasionally sleeps on her back or belly.

After reading the forum's posts, I intend to try a natural latex mattress from either Flobeds or Sleepez.  The question is whether my wife or I will bottom out either the Sleepez 1300 or the 12" Flobeds.  Although I have read plenty regarding the...

Need help... change mattress or add Topper? - alexb

Hi everyone,

GREAT FORUM... this is m first post...

I am in a HUGE dillemma right now with my current mattress purchase. I had a saggy Serta mattress that they didn't warranty as it wasn't saggins 1.5" without any weight on it (a lot more if you slept on it). So, I decided to go out and get myself a new set. From past experiences with Serta and Sealy, I decided to go Simmons and pocket Coil.

I purchased a FIRM Simmons, World Class (980 springs), Medium Pillowtop (not as big of Eurotop, 1.5-2" top of memroy/latex mix). I took it home and slept on it... it feels OK if I sleep on my back, but I start on my side, and end up on my back... so now it's starting to...
