Re: Latex Mattress Confusion! - Savvy Rest - Sleepez - Flobeds??? - Lynn2006

cmom04, I don't work for FloBeds but I was just very happy to have good customer service and the option of tweaking my bed to a comfort level for my back. I will try to answer all your questions in the next two days. I am so tired from trying to finish a deadline for work. I just wanted to reply before going to bed. It is 1:25 AM in NJ and I can barely keep my eyes open. I have the pine slat box since this was the frame that was least expensive when I bought it. I went with all natural latex until I found out I needed two 44 ILD's of the blended latex to make my bed firmer. I was surprised that I was not bothered by out-gassing since I am bothered by man-made latex that is not the Talalay processing....

Split latex cores is best for just hardly any motion transfer (Maybe none but I am sure no bed has none if you are sharing a sheet and comforter... I am the lightest sleeper and I never feel my little dog moving around on her side of the bed so she does not wake me up like she did when I had a regular mattress) and the latex has them squish together so tightly that with a topper over it that is not split and a comfortable zippered mattress cover, you will not notice the split. Plus split cores are easier to move around, give more options for comfort adjustments and are what I have and I am happy. I have three latex core layers and the topper over this under my mattress cover from FloBeds. I had to do many exchanges to get my bed just right so I...

I just love my pine slat box and that was one of my sales also during the 90 days. I also love the 10" legs that I exchanged my other legs for that raise my bed up to allow storage underneath. The slat box gives very firm support and is rigid and does not move around but is easy to take move if I ever had to remove the bed from the room (If I ever move from my home) since I got the split foundation. I would go with this sale and know that the mattress itself could also go on sale during Thanksgiving so you would at least maybe have another mark down in price. I also went with the organic cotton on the sides but that is because at first I felt I needed 100% natural Talalay Latex but I see now that the blended 44 Talalay...

I have the Pine Slat Bed with 10" legs and headboard brackets that I attached my Wesley Allen Headboard. The 2" natural talalay latex topper came as part oft he bed (I at first order 100% natural but the bottom two layers on my bed are both 44 ILD blended latex now to give me the firmness I wanted and they are giving me no allergy problems) but being that I am not quite 100 lbs and not quite 5 feet tall, I wanted a topper that was not more than 1" thick since with a comfortable 2" pad, I do not sink in enough to feel the very firm bed underneath that I needed for my back....

Philly888. I am glad you mother loves the beds and sheets. I also love my beds and sheets. I also love the super soft latex pillow (comes in three softness variations and I chose the softest one) but Dave sent me a Queen and it is too high for me so I am using my Overstock Talalay natural latex pillows that are a tiny bit higher and firmer than I like but are very comfortable to me. I was going to try out the standard size pillow in soft but I got too busy with tax season.
My sheets fit my bed perfectly and are not too short or too long since I have a Queen Bed and three layers with a topper.
I also love flannel sheets in the winter time. Thanks for posting the update....
Talalay Vs. Dunlop Latex - Lynn2006
May 25, 2008 7:56 PM
From all my readings about Dunlap versus Talalay process methods and from my experience with that one Dunlap topper ( I have not experienced any Dunlap latex cores that may be great for bottom support), it seems that the Talalay Process cleans out the latex better and produces more consistent pin holes that produce more consistent ILD's throught the latex core and that the firmer Talalay Latex has a very long life. Latex International says that Talalay Latex lasts longer than Dunlap Latex but Latex International manufactures Talalay Latex. :)
I have selected posts from various sites below to help others make the decision.
I am happy with the Talalay Latex cores I have from FloBeds that buys them from Latex International (but my topper is from Brylane Homes since I wanted a 1" topper that was soft made with the Talalay Processing.... Dave did sent me three toppers but they were...

After buying a memory foam mattress last week from Costco only to discover that I and my wife hate it (too soft), I am now furiously trying to find another bed.
After considerable research and going to a half-dozen stores, I have settled on a Latex bed. Initially I had liked Dormia (Sonora and Ultimate) but have been concerned about their rep (lots of complaints with the BBB) and finally decided to go with Natura - specifically the Solace mattress ($1,970 - queen) by itself.
One store that I happened to visit had a floor model - the Natura Solace mattress in a queen size (just what I want) - in a dual-adjustable frame. So the Solace is split at the top. The frame itself looks like a "Justabed" foundation (http://www.flobeds.com/product_details.htm?ID=7033DK). It's what Natura calls a split-top Solace on top of a Naturaflex base. The list price on this arrangement seems to...
Best Organic Latex Mattress?? - azba

Hi Everyone,
I think I over-researched and now am confused on which are the best natural latex beds (in my price-range). My ideal bed at this point is a triple-layered, 9” Dunlop set encased in a zippered organic wool & cotton cover. Below are some stores I've looked at along with some issues I have with them. I think this list will help others who are searching, and I'm also hoping that anyone with latex bed experience will be able to offer their feedback and expertise. Thank you!
1. Savvyrest: Seems like a great bed, but no return policy. Not with any of their vendors either. I can’t in good conscience drop that much money on a bed without the possibility of returning it. Also, their warranty only covers depressions that are 1 ½” deep or more. That seems like a lot to me, so I don’t have confidence in their beds.

I can't figure out what the difference between the Posture Select Flobeds mattress and the SleepEz talalay blended 8500 mattress.
Why is the flobeds one $300 more?
What kind of latex is the longest lasting? Is blended worse than 100% natural?...

Hi - I am new to the forum and have read most posts and reviews out there on Latex Mattresses. It has been super helpful to me, but I am also now confused as well!!
My Back Story:
We recently bought a Tempurpedic Deluxe model. Felt comfy in the store - but I just haven't been able to get used to it and it feels like I am sleeping on a ROCK! (We have had it about 6/7 weeks now - so we are within our window to return it so it is going back!) My husband likes it, but would only rate it a comfort level of 7 (1 being worst and 10 being best) For the price paid, I would certainly hope it would be more comfortable than that for him! Plus he has been getting headaches everyday since we got the mattress, and I have had headaches on...
