Re: Foam by Mail latex & Latex International latex comparison - Lynn2006

Jim, Thanks for sharing the differences in the Latex. I only know I had tried a Dunlap latex topper and the quality was not there for that topper. My Latex from FloBeds.com is the quality on the right with the same tags since it is from Latex International.  The quality of my Latex 1" topper from Brylane homes also looks like the right side and is very nice.  My bed is very comfortable to sleep on but since I am a side sleeper and very petite, I wanted a little bit of cushion but not too much so I could feel the very firm layers of the latex underneath the toppers.  Each side has one blended latex Super Firm (44 ILD with one of the cores averaging at 46 ILD like I requested) and two natural Talalay Latex Cores with my Natural Latex Topper over this.  I am very chemically...

electracat, sorry, I just saw your post tonight and did not know you posted a question to me.

I have a FloBed Latex Mattress with a 37 ILD Extra Firm Latex Cores over a 37 ILD Extra Firm Latex Core over a 46 ILD Super Firm Latex Core (I asked Dave to find me latex cores on the high end of each firmness level) over a Pine Slat Box with 10" high legs (so I can store things under the bed since the bed to me is best with the higher legs and I have no problems getting on and off and I am not quite 5 feet tall).

The topper is from Brylane Homes since I wanted a soft topper that was 1" thick with no seam made out of Talalay Latex.  The topper gives the perfect softness for my side sleeping while letting me feel the firmness layers...

Re: Just received my Sleep EZ 10,000 - Lynn2006

I would ask who the manufacturer of the Talalay Latex is.  All my natural Talalay Latex Pillows have about the same size holes and I have not noticed this in my latex cores but the back of the latex cores is not silky smooth like the top but two X-Firms have about the same size holes that I got from FloBeds.  Maybe SleepEZ has an explanation.   I do know that on the side of my latex cores gives the average ILD and some are more or less than others so I requested those that are are the firmer side....

Michelle, What pillow are you sleeping on?

When I made my bed too firm under my 1" topper (when I thought I would try a 44 ILD under my topper), my shoulders would ache in the morning. I also sleep on the side.  The only combination that seems to be working for me is my right side of my bed that has the 1" soft latex topper over the two 37 ILD 3" natural latex cores over the 46 ILD blended Talalay Latex core over my slat bed. My left side of my bed is still slightly too firm since I put a 44 ILD in the middle and it feels the best when I go to sleep but I wake up with a little bit of shoulder pain.  But the 36 ILD in the middle is too soft for me so I may call Dave at FloBeds one more...

Re: Compare latex mattresses - EcoCloud, CozyPure, FloBed, and even Simmons Black Viola - Lynn2006

I have a FloBeds all natural Talalay Latex except for the bottom two Super Firm 44 - 46 ILD latex cores that are the blended Talalay Latex.  Most of my Talalay Latex Cores are 37 ILD which is very Firm.  I have a 1" topper since the 2" topper was too thick for someone like me who is not quite 5 feet tall and petite in weight as as well height.  I love my cover.  The first cover sent was not as nice but since it had a tiny rip in it, I called Dave and he told  me to wait until all my pieces of latex were selected with exchanges and he would exchange it postage paid with a new topper and then I could also send back which legs I do not want since he sent me a few sizes to see what I would like due to...
Re: Looking to buy a latex mattress: few questions - Lynn2006

Terriks, That Tush Cush sounds like a great idea. I will look into it. Thank you.  Before the car accident, I didn't have any back problems but due to my slight scoliosis, I always just slept on very firm beds with no back pain.  Now I seem to need firmness with a little give.

Keven, My set up is for me and I am only 4'10.5" and 100 lbs so I wanted only a 1" soft topper so I would have some cushion but not a lot.  I then have on my right side, two 37 ILD natural latex Extra Firm (called that by FloBeds but each company calls their ILD's different firmness names) over a 46 ILD latex Core (the 44 averaged to a 44 and this is a blended latex core that surprisingly I had no reaction to and I am chemically sensitive so Talalay Latex must really clean the...

Re: ILD Ratings: Foam, and Latex Talalay and Dunlop FIRMNESS - Lynn2006

The higher the ILD, the firmer the latex foam.  My preferred Talalay Latex combination (all of my bed and slat box support with legs is from FloBeds but my topper is from Brylane Homes since the 2" softness from FloBeds was too soft for me and I wanted a 1" latex pad to provide just enough cushion but still give me support since I do not sink in much being so petite) is 1" of around 24 ILD over 39 ILD natural Talalay Latex from Latex International, over a 37 natural Talalay Latex ILD over a blended Talalay Latex 46 ILD latex core.

Some people prefer firmer beds and others like beds softer but in all I feel too soft hurts the back by not giving support but too hard with no topper provides pain in the pressure points like my too firm conventional mattress did making me turn to much.

Re: Finding a good Latex mattress in the Store, especially the LA area, AND know anything about Aireloom Luxury Latex? - cloud9

Most S-brand latex mattresses are not all latex. They feature a latex core --sometimes all synthetic as in the case of the Sealy Springfree-- and a "comfort" layer made of the same low grade, quick to sag PU you'll find in a standard innerspring mattress. Be sure to inquire about the construction of any latex mattress you are interested in. Don't take the salesman's word for it. Most of the time they are misinformed or don't really know their inventory. Call or e-mail the manufacturer directly for information.

Many stores in the LA area carry Englander latex mattresses. They have a natural Talalay latex core of 30 ILD with a softer comfort layer. You might want to check it out. Very few stores carry more than a couple of latex mattresses since they are considered more of a specialty item, but most stores can order a specific mattress as long as...

Re: Latex Mattress Confusion! - Savvy Rest - Sleepez - Flobeds??? - BeddyBye

This is what I have.(below link) Only I have LuraFlex coils with latex layers and one layer of high density firm PU foam as a base. I prefer the feel of springs and I like the fact that I can unzip my mattress and move around the latex layers as needed. Do you happen to live anywhere near this store?

Re: Savvy Rest report - richiro

Firstly, FloBeds is out for me because I want Dunlop.  So that leaves 3 vendors I have been considering:  Savvy Rest, Sleep EZ, and Habitat Futons.

Savvy Rest is both the most expensive, and the only vendor that doesn't accept returns (90-day exchange only).  Also been in business the least amount of time (although the people and customer service and documentation are excellent).

Sleep EZ is the cheapest with a 90-day exchange and return policy.  I think they have been in the business the longest, but I ruled them out for me (they were the only one of the three that couldn't provide materials documentation on their product, they've said some different things about synthetic vs natural, and talalay vs dunlop then i've read from a few other sites).

Habitat Futons is the middle in pricing (more towards Sleep EZ then Savvy Rest) and has a 180 day return policy.  They've been in...
