I have both the blended and the natural Latex Internal Latex and I find them both very high quality with a preference for the natural in my pillows next to my face (psychological just knowing it is natural) but no preference for the latex cores since I find my allergies are not bothered by the blended latex and it is just as nice as the natural.

I had bought a synthetic latex pillow NOT from Latex International and had allergic reactions to it and had to give it away. I never had or have any problems with Talalay Latex so their cleaning process must be very good.

I love my Talaly latex bed from FloBeds and I love my Talalay latex 1" soft topper from Brylane Homes.  I returned the 2" convoluted latex topper from FloBeds and I put the 1" topper I bought from Brylane Homes under the zippered cover....

After a very long and protracted ordeal I decided on Flobeds. The fact that they use only Talalay was one of my major concerns as well, as it would seem to me that Dunlop would give you a firmer feel.

I will know a lot more by Tuseday, as the mattresses is to arrive tomorrow.

One point I would like to make regarding nomenclature. The habitat website, which sells a very interesting mattress by the way, makes a very valid point about the word organic. Organic is just the wrong word to use as regards a full 100% natural latex product that is derived exclusively from the rubber tree. They say the proper word to use is "botanical" it makes sense to me that we need something to make it clear when a manufacturer is producing a latex product exclusively derived from the rubber tree.

It is amazing how even this niche market...

Hi eagle2,
I've been going through some posts, including yours, and think I read in different posts (if I'm remembering correctly) that you were getting an all-dunlap bed, then that you ordered a combination talalay-dunlap, and now an all talalay flobed? Did you try the others or change your mind? Curious because it'd be great to hear your experience of the various ones.

I'm still working on my flo-beds set-up, which I hope I can make work (all natural talaly). Flobeds has been great to work with, excellent customer service.
Linda

Linda: Yes it has been a very convoluted experience. I will spare you the details as they are not pertinent to the questions you're asking, but rather have to do with business dealings, and not beds. But needless to say it has not been a fun trip getting from where I started to finally winding...
Just bought a new Flobeds - eagle2

I just purchased a new FloBeds. It is the 100% natural Talalay 4 layer mattresses. The top most layer being a soft egg crate 2" piece of Talalay.

I purchased the following configuration. On the left side of the bed I have a median top layer, firm middle layer, and extra firm bottom layer. On the right side the top layer is firm, the second layer is extra firm, and the bottom layer is extra firm.

I felt that this should give me an opportunity to switch the layers around and come up with the configuration that will work the best for my 6' 2"  210 pound frame. It has been quite a wrestling match, reading all the different descriptions that various people like, when it comes to firmness layers. You also run into this with some of the websites. No two people seem to consider this the same way....

Jim: I just bought from FlowBeds. It is an all natural organic Talalay 3 cores of 3" and the top most layer of 2" soft convoluted Talalay. I won't trouble you with foam density at this stage, because I don't know what's going to work or what I will replace it with. But as I am 6' 2"and weigh 210 pounds I'm going with a more firm mattress to begin with.

Jay: Possibly you need to look into http://www.habitatfutons.com/latex_mattress.html

They sell a six-inch Dunlop mattresses including the cover, for $1600 with free shipping for a California King. They have an excellent trial period of six months. If you don't like the mattress during that period of time you can return it for a full refund no questions asked. They also sell the same mattress with a 2 inch top layer of  soft Talalay, and another mattress with the...

I too am suffering from horrible back pain and have been researching latex mattresses.  I would look at several websites and read what everybody says about:

1.  Dunlop vs. Talalay latex - some people seem to prefer one kind or the other.  The short story is that Dunlop seems to be stiffer, have fewer ILD options, and is less consistent, and may break down sooner.  Dunlop is manufactured in Sri Lanka, if I remember correctly.

This site has some good information about the manufacturing methods and some nice video to watch:

http://www.latexmattresscompany.com/

2.  All "natural" Talalay latex vs. blended Talalay latex - blended being a combination of natural latex rubber from a rubber tree and synthetic latex, which is chemically identical to natural latex.  Again, you will hear differences of opinion with some feeling that all natural is the best latex, and others saying that blended Talalay has a more consistent structure and more...
