If you can find the new Serta Pure Response line of 100% latex, I think you'll really like the way they feel. I just discovered them yesterday and if I wasn't already happy with my zippered mattress, I might give this serious consideration. I loved the way they felt! Especially the plush model. Comes with a 30 year warranty. Pro-rated, of course. But, since latex doesn't show body impressions, I imagine this mattress will last a long time. I liked it better than the Sealy Spring Free line.

Okaaaay, you're forgiven.
Now, back to the Pure Response....I was thinking that my mother might like this. I'm happy with my zippered, custom configuration. Anyway, what's a 32 racetrack? Is that the edging down the sides? I notice it doesn't wrap around, but I suppose they don't think people will sit on the end. (My husband does, though, when he puts his shoes on.) And, you say the 8 inch core is only 28 ILD? Wow. Doesn't seem firm enough, although it certainly felt like it yesterday. And, I couldn't determine the cut-out ILD. I went back last night and tried the model this store called "Transcend". It has the convoluted comfort layer on top which actually made the mattress feel very nice and yet still supportive. NOT a pillowtop, though.
How were you able to find out these stats? I asked the saleswoman if she knew the...

Speaking of lay....never mind.
As for the incorrect usage, excuuuuuse me. I must have been thinking of the old prayer, "Now I lay me down to sleep"....
And, I truly am sorry that you find it necessary to be so $#@! anal. As was posted previously, you actually do have a wealth of knowledge and it's very much appreciated. But, who named YOU the Simon Cowell of this forum? :)

They both use synthetic fibers on top of the latex core that causes indentations.
For the same price, you can buy a high quality Natura with all natural fibers.
you can ask them for the nearest location to you.

My post was a cut and paste and should have been in quotation marks. It was objective, not subjective, and clearly stated that widespread usage has been changing. I posted it because I chuckled when I read "I just had the opportunity to lay on two very nice 100% latex mattresses over at a local dept. store" as I envisioned the audience. Frequent posters on mattress sites may want to know the difference, may enjoy the distinction, or may not care. It's not important.
BTW, IIRC that Serta has a 32 racetrack w/ a 28 core, so may result in the standard problem of feeling great at night, and terrible in the morning....

mccldwll: You and Sager have the most informative posts on this and the old forum, but with all due respect, you certainly can be a kill-joy. I'd rather be "judged unfavorably" for my word usage than for my critical temperament....

A little online research seems to show that the Natura Sensation Queen is a nine inch build with a six inch latex core and a three inch memory foam top layer.
When we were mattress researching it seemed that natural Latex was most expensive except for Tempura-pedic.
I would suggest doing a Google for mattress stores in area of Philly see if their websites claim Latex core mattresses and, if not, call them and then drive to those that offer Latex core mattresses. We learned that every make of mattress whether memory foam or Latex or innerspring all have different firmness and different comfort levels so we agree that you should find a mattress in a local area venue so you can personally test it.
A lot of people don't know that Serta has a line of Latex mattresses called "Pure Response". I mention this as a LOT of mattress furniture vendors offer the Serta...

I'm sorry, but that statement is just silly. I'm not sure exactly what kind of logical flaw that statement is demonstrating, and I don't have time to look it up, but there is a reasoning flaw there, for sure. Saying "if you think S-brand mattresses are crap, then you must think American cars are crap, too" is ridiculous. It implies an association where there is none. It's like saying "If you don't like broccoli, you must hate tomatoes, too."
shollis13, I don't mean to pounce on you, but the comments I've seen of yours in 3 threads this morning make me wonder if you're affiliated with the mattress industry. If you...

Hello, I have looked for reviews for these two latex mattresses, but haven't really found any. I am really hoping
somebody has an opinion. Before I give details, let me just mention that I cannot afford the pure organic mattress from Natura,
so I am aware that the Natura that I am looking at contains some chemicals. In particular, I am looking at the Ultra-Green Solice.
According to the Natura website, the Solice contains:

Serta makes a great Latex product. Their products are all Talalay process beds which is the best in the industry. They have beds that have a soy based core or a Talalay core. The talalay core is the one you want and would last you for a long time. Feel great about that and dont listen to all the S brand stuff. If you do then dont buy a car from anyone because that is saying Chevy and Ford, for example, make cars that arent worth a flip either. Good luck....
