Flobeds advice? - GreenTeam

I think we are finally able to order a new latex mattress from Flobeds! We've been wanting one for a couple of years now. We are looking at a Cal King Posture Deluxe Talalay mattress. Hubby is a stomach sleeper and I am a side sleeper.

Do you have any advice for us?

Is it worth it to get the Euroslat foundation, as opposed to the non-adjustable slat foundation?

Are their firmness recommendations pretty accurate? (I think I remember reading here that the latex cores run on the soft side.)

Anything else we should know before we place an order? Thanks!...

Thanks for all the info.

I'm leaning towards going firmer rather than softer.  Especially since I'm on the heavier end of the scale and I really want some decent support.

As far as memory foam goes, I really would like something more "natural", especially since I have a young son that often ends up in bed with us. (Even though we have the pillows.)  As well, even though my partner likes the feel of memory foam, he really likes the durability of latex. (As in, not having to go through this process again soon).

Oddly enough, the hardest part for me is trying to decide which company to go with, not the idea of a kit itself. Well that, and how to configure the layers.  I am going to be importing this bed into Canada, so I really, really, really don't want to do more than one exchange.  Luckily, I live about...

Hey Dull,

It is 6 am and I tossed and turned all night.

I am considering buying a mattress via mail ... possibly through SleepEZ or Foam Distributing as it is much more affordable.

Where did you get your mattress and how is it set up?

Thanks.

I haven't heard of or looked into Foam Distributing.  However, I did speak with SleepEZ on the phone and based upon that, and from what I've read on this forum, they seem like an excellent company.   However, after a call to Flobeds (flobeds.com), I ended up going with them.  A couple of things convinced me to go with Flobeds:

1) The warranty is slightly different.  SleepEZ's warranty is 7 years of non-prorated and 8 years of prorated.  Flobeds is 10 non-prorated, 50% coverage for 11-15 years, and 25% coverage for 15-20 years.
2) According to a call to SleepEZ, the core exchange would...

"Your bed isn't perfectly square, so you cant rotate the cores. Do you have a center support on your frame? How many legs does it have? Oh, and how much does your cat weigh? lol.

Well, my cat is 18 lbs so I'm not denying he may be a contributing factor! Yea, I do have a center support (so three vertically oriented supports) and then full coverage horizontal boards with no gap > a quarter of an inch. I can stand on it. I don't think it's the frame.

"So let me try again.

The business you mention about the crack between the split pieces is a concern of mine as well. However many people have told me not to worry as the friction between the pieces keeps them from giving you a problem. You of course, have your own personal experience, and would beg to differ. Flowbeds seems to...

OK.  So I called Custom Comfort and told them I wasn't happy with their customer service.  They told me the core was going to be 32, what they delivered was 28, and since I am heavy, I was sinking right into it.  They told me they would come out next Thursday to pick it up and adjust it.

So after a conversation with the manager, I ended up asking them to come pick it up and refund my money.  They agreed to do this after some arguing.  Then I told my husband that they are coming out to pick up the mattress today and he's got steam coming out of his ears!  He says it's something we should have discussed (true) and now he's going to have to sleep on the couch until something new arrives (also true) . . .
