Thanks so much in advance for any insight, advice you can give. I'm desperate - I have to make this work. I’m soooooooo tired of researching mattresses and trying to find trustworthy sources among the many options. all the mattresses look so comfy and enticing online or store, its mind boggling...This is so very FRUSTRATING because I RESEARCHED for hours and hours, tried different beds in stores...argh

SleepEZ 8500. Layers - SMF from top to bottom
I’m side and stomach sleeper (but trying not to sleep on stomach so much, I know this isn’t good for lower back).

Yes, this bed is made by Simmons. My husband and I have now had and returned two Westin Heavenly Beds from Nordstrom. A shame! The WHB is so comfortable at first and I can even remember lying on each of them the first few nights thinking how supportive and how nice it felt. BUT-- then the sagging begins :( The first one took about a year or so to notice. Nordstrom's replaced it for us bc it was causing me constant back pain. The second was even worse and started sagging somewhere around month six. Again, causing such back pain that I began sleeping in the guest room and we returned it once and for all.
The good news-- if you do buy one, BUY IT FROM NORDSTROM'S! Their customer...

What's the difference between buying from FBM or going to a local place to have one custom made?
Most likely price. If you know what you want DIY can be very cost effective. I agree that FBM reviews have had ups and downs, but two recent reviews here have been positive. There was a thread that had pics of the latex and it looked good. No defects, discoloration, tears and the pieces were all the same size.

Molly, I have a Simmons Beautyrest Bagwell, extra firm mattress for over seven years now and at 230 pounds, it's flat as the day I bought it. However, I have been adding mattress toppers continuously. First I tried a 2" memory foam from Macy's which proved to be to hard. Then I added a quilted wool duvet from McRoskeys with not much success. Two week ago, I purchased a Queen Rejuvenite mattress topper from Arizona Premium On-line with a 28 ILD rating manufactured at Latex International and while this feels nice to sleep on, the 28 ILD on the extra firm simmonds is still too hard. I was searching for a twin extra firm mattress set. Sleepys
lists a Simmons that I'm sure is a safe bet. With their shipping
charge and taxes the final cost would be around $800.00
