Most of my FloBed Talalay Latex cores are marked with firmness ILD numbers and names and test results of each part of the latex and the average ILD of each latex core along with information if it is a natural Talalay Latex from Latex International or Talatech Latex from Latex International. Two of my latex cores are the blended latex since the natural latex did not come in ILDs as firm as the 44 ILD and the 46 ILD latex cores I have. The rest of my 6 latex cores are the natural Talalay Latex. Amazingly I was not allergic to the blended latex. The blended latex cores are 2.8" thick while the natural latex cores are 3" thick. Two newer cores just say 37 ILD on them and are wonderful and firmer than my 36 ILD latex core. My holes are consistent on my latex cores....
Talalay Vs. Dunlop Latex - Lynn2006
May 25, 2008 7:56 PM
From all my readings about Dunlap versus Talalay process methods and from my experience with that one Dunlap topper ( I have not experienced any Dunlap latex cores that may be great for bottom support), it seems that the Talalay Process cleans out the latex better and produces more consistent pin holes that produce more consistent ILD's throught the latex core and that the firmer Talalay Latex has a very long life. Latex International says that Talalay Latex lasts longer than Dunlap Latex but Latex International manufactures Talalay Latex. :)
I have selected posts from various sites below to help others make the decision.
I am happy with the Talalay Latex cores I have from FloBeds that buys them from Latex International (but my topper is from Brylane Homes since I wanted a 1" topper that was soft made with the Talalay Processing.... Dave did sent me three toppers but they were...

One of the biggest reasons I dislike latex is the constant confusion, so to clear the air........
Dunlop = The older process of making latex that used to be (up until about 4-5 years ago) sometimes referred to as natural if the contents were found to be at least 71% natural or called standard if they were not. None of it is or was 100% natural outside of marketing. It feels like pound cake but ILD ratings are similar. First created by the Dunlop company, it is now made all over by almost every latex manufacturer and comes in various degrees of quality. Some Dunlop mattresses can last 40+ years.
Talalay = Standard Talalay is the newer process of making latex, introduced by Latex International who called it Talatech. It feels like angel food cake and is made from a mix of 70% artificial Talalay and 30%...

Re: Has anyone used "Foam by Mail" latex topper? - Sabra

Beddybye and Lynn,
The topper is talalay but I don't thinks it's Talatech talalay, simply because I think Foam by Mail would have advertised it as such. I don't know the source but it does feel and look like my Talatech pillow. I tired many toppers, but I never tried the Brylane or Overstock. By the time I found the forum, they were pretty well sold out in King size. Sorry I can't help there.
I do very much like the 1" topper I've been using. It truly does make a comfort difference in the surface feel of our bed. It's been worth the hours of reading the old forums and trial and error of products to find what works for us. I wish the same blessing for all the forum readers.

Re: Need advice on how to best craft a comfort layer using toppers. - Zzzzzzzspleaze

Sleeplikeabear.com has recommended a 2" 28 ILD topper + 1" 19 ILD topper (LI Talatech). They (Evelyn) suggest that this would create the plushy-yet-supportive comfort layer I'm seeking. Any thoughts? ...
Can anyone tell me how a convoluted latex topper differs from a regular latex topper of the same ILD? - Zzzzzzzspleaze
Jun 14, 2009 12:03 PM
Specifically, the Latex International talalay convoluted topper and the LI talatech topper, both 19 ILD. I'm mostly wondering if the convoluted topper feels softer or about the same.

My new mattress is firmer than anticipated, so I'm looking to add 1" of talalay latex to soften things up. The quest for a perfect mattress is never-ending, apparently.

...

Well, I got an email today from Custom Comfort saying that they use Talatech latex.
The comfort guarantee is 30 days in which they will adjust the mattress layers at no charge.
The warranty is basically 10 years, which doesn't bother me; from all I've read that's about the life of a mattress anyway.
I still need to look further into the components of the quilted mattress cover....
