i have it, for over 3 months.  please note suggestions from previous replies which were relevant for YOUR comfort.

i also have a ruptured disk and this mattress has been very comfortable after weeks of trying different sides, cover and pads.  leo is correct about less is best.  i will be trying a wool pad mainly to add temperature control and softness.   so, the short answer is, no, maybe you don't need a pad.

I don't understand why you are so agitated, mattresspuzzle, by answers from people who don't own this particular bed. Comfort is an individual matter, and this bed may or may not be comfortable for you. But, you won't know until you try it out.

Also, it is fair to ask why your friend is getting rid of the bed in the first place. I also think it's fair to ask to try the bed out. Any one of my friends would let me do that.

my queen bed box springs rest on wooden planks - 3 of them in the middle that can be moved to differnt positions. and of course on the sides of the bed. They are  wooden planks instead of Iron rails. Currently I have a Seal mattress.

 

Could I place the costco sleep science latex bed queen foundation on these wooden planks safely meaning it won't break the wooden planks?

Hey guys, I'm brand new to the website and to mattress buying in general. I spent about the last 15 years of my life sleeping on the same futon since elementary school so anything to me will be a great upgrade. I just bought a Stearns & Foster Hearthstone Firm II full sized bed and I like it but I want to give the latex a try.
