I have a FloBeds all natural Talalay Latex except for the bottom two Super Firm 44 - 46 ILD latex cores that are the blended Talalay Latex. Most of my Talalay Latex Cores are 37 ILD which is very Firm. I have a 1" topper since the 2" topper was too thick for someone like me who is not quite 5 feet tall and petite in weight as as well height. I love my cover. The first cover sent was not as nice but since it had a tiny rip in it, I called Dave and he told me to wait until all my pieces of latex were selected with exchanges and he would exchange it postage paid with a new topper and then I could also send back which legs I do not want since he sent me a few sizes to see what I would like due to...

Compare latex mattresses - EcoCloud, CozyPure, FloBed, and even Simmons Black Viola - tex88

Hi, I'm trying to buy a new mattress, and i'm looking for a few tips. Our current bed is a Sterns & Foster Firm Euro-Pillowtop, which now has massive body impressions that are messing up my back (since i'm a back sleeper). My fiance (a side sleeper) of course loves the ultra poofy luxuriousness of the pillowtop, and doesn't mind that the foam collapses after a minute of laying on it.
So my goal is to find a soft and comfortable, yet supportive and durable mattress. Ideally with some amount of "luxury" feel to the quilting, rather than just a very thin cotton cover with a tiny bit of wool.
I started looking at Simmons, but ruled out everything except the Beautyrest Black Viola (with a tiny bit of latex in it), since the top quilting seems soft and luxurious yet not very tall (it's not a pillowtop), so i would...

BEWARE of Natura World Green Series Mattresses - chihiro

Beware of the Natura World "Green Series"!!!
After purchasing their mattress (Manufacturer: Natura World, Line: Green, Model: "Pure") and bringing it home I read the little white label that says that the product legally meets fire retardancy standards and not to remove unless you've purchased the product and yada ya....
This product contains Polyurethane foam!!! The ingedient is hidden under the descriptions of "high quality quilting foam," and "this mattress is 98% natural." Both I and the owner of the store I purchased the product from called the company and found out that the cover OVER the all-natural latex contains an inch of polyurethane memory foam! Now, anybody who is conscienscious enough to buy an organic, natural (what does that word even mean these days?), green or "environmentally friendly mattress" knows that this is the FIRST substance in mattresses to avoid!
Less important, but also worth noting that the company tries...

Firstly, FloBeds is out for me because I want Dunlop. So that leaves 3 vendors I have been considering: Savvy Rest, Sleep EZ, and Habitat Futons.
Savvy Rest is both the most expensive, and the only vendor that doesn't accept returns (90-day exchange only). Also been in business the least amount of time (although the people and customer service and documentation are excellent).
Sleep EZ is the cheapest with a 90-day exchange and return policy. I think they have been in the business the longest, but I ruled them out for me (they were the only one of the three that couldn't provide materials documentation on their product, they've said some different things about synthetic vs natural, and talalay vs dunlop then i've read from a few other sites).
Habitat Futons is the middle in pricing (more towards Sleep EZ then Savvy Rest) and has a 180 day return policy. They've been in...

Great...thank you all so much for the feedback! It's been invaluable. I won't go with 4", but I'm wondering if I can get away with 3"...it's more economical to put together a mattress using the fewest layers possible. My present mattress has a 3" memory foam comfort layer and it just isn't thick enough. I don't know if 2" would really be worth my while. 4" does seem a little excessive for a top layer, though.
Well, anyway, I'm getting samples of the two ILDs I'm interested in (16-18 and 26), so I'll be better able to judge which thickness I need once I've actually felt the material.

Jim, thank you so much for responding, it had been several days since my initial post and the only response I had received was from myself, until your post.
I agree with you about FlowBeds. They seem to be a very nice family run business and one of the few companies with a return policy. I am waiting to receive some samples from them that Dewey has sent to me. I have some samples from Savvy Rest, and the fact that they do sell Dunlop interests me. The Dunlop just seems to be a more natural feeling latex as opposed to Talalay. It's a shame...

Hello everyone. I am a new member and I have a couple of questions.
I have been sleeping on a water bed for over 20 years now. The most recent bed is now 10 years old and the floatation material seems to be wearing out as it wants to bunch up on one side. It is a California King and I sleep in it alone, mostly I am a side sleeper. I am 6'2" tall and weighed 210 pounds.
I have been thinking about all natural, organic latex mattress. I have been reading quite a few of the online retailers websites. I have pretty well narrowed it down to two companies. Sleep Ez, primarily because of all the good posts on this site regarding them, and also Savvy Rest because they have gotten other reviews on other sites that were good. I have talked with Savvy Rest by phone and they were...

We were looking for a new king mattress and had narrowed it down to latex or memory foam. After trying out many mattresses locally we liked both types, but we had two concerns: having our faces next to plastic derivative (memory foam) or a partial petroleum product (synthetic latex) for years, and longevity of the matress. So we settled on natural latex, which seemed like it might have less chance of harmful emissions (although I could not find any solid data on this) and would last for decades. No major manufacturer that we could find has this product - all "natural" lines have other substances as well (notably PU foam) that does not inspire confidence for longevity.
There were a number of interesting products on the web, and we narrowed it down to Flobed and SleepEZ based on the products they carried and the price. Called SleepEZ with a question...
