I believe Savvy Rest is a good company. But you might also want to consider, SleepEZ, FloBeds, and Habitat. Foam Sweet Foam also has some good prices but I do not care for their exchange policy or their return policy. Those are just a few of the alternatives that I can think of to recommend.

You were aware that Simmons had taken bankruptcy? I have no idea what their reorganization company will be like, are really very much about the deal at all, other than I had read they had taken bankruptcy....

In the past Latex International used to have their warranty information on their website.  From my recollection, the blended was warranted a greater number of years (20?) then the 100% natural.  Perhaps somebody else can verify this.  If Batman is around, he will know the answer.

Jim: This issue of which is superior, botanically grown hundred percent natural latex or blended latex has been debated ad infinitum.

I would genuinely like to know what the truth is, if it could be something other than just another opinion. It seems to be, that what ever product is the most desirable to the person selling it, is the product that is superior.

Habitat claims that only the 100% botanically grown latex is the superior product, and they will not sell a blended product because it is so inferior. They have very little good to say about blended latex. SleepEZ, on...

OK.  So I called Custom Comfort and told them I wasn't happy with their customer service.  They told me the core was going to be 32, what they delivered was 28, and since I am heavy, I was sinking right into it.  They told me they would come out next Thursday to pick it up and adjust it.

So after a conversation with the manager, I ended up asking them to come pick it up and refund my money.  They agreed to do this after some arguing.  Then I told my husband that they are coming out to pick up the mattress today and he's got steam coming out of his ears!  He says it's something we should have discussed (true) and now he's going to have to sleep on the couch until something new arrives (also true) . . .

Sooooo, I talked to Flobeds and...

Wow! Tks but neither of you mentions Savvy Rest!! They too have a stellar reputation with A or A+ at BBB..

This I do know: we will only consider dunlop.

If Flobeds are now selling dunlop, I will try to find out who they use. TKs for that info!

I have recommended Savvy Rest several times on these boards. I believe they are a first rate company. I checked into them as well at one time, as I thought that only Dunlop would satisfy my latex needs. I subsequently learned that Talalay could provide all the support that I needed. I have never spent the night sleeping on a Dunlop bed so I cannot speak to the issue from that standpoint. But I think you would find either with 100% natural botanically grown Talalay processed latex, or Latex Internationals blended Talalay that you could find all the support...

You can see a comparison of the composition of all of these "S" brand "latex" mattresses on this chart by US Mattress:

http://site.namebrandbeds.com/latex-mattress-comparison-chart.html

From the description of the mattress you have given, it looks like your mattress is branded on the above chart as the Simmons Natural Care Willowbrook Firm.  This mattress is 9 1/2" deep, but only 6" is actually latex.  The ILD is 28, which is considered a "medium" firmness in latex.  The rest of the mattress is composed of foam base layers and fillers.

The issue you ought to be concerned about is how much latex really is in these "latex" mattresses?  Some of them are branded as latex mattresses but actually contain very little latex and a lot of PU foam, which is *not* long lasting or durable.  Many people have complained about the PU foam layers in these "S" brand mattresses degrading within a very short time, leaving...

Thanks for the note on Flobeds.  I also came across Savvy and then seem to have high quality and a good price.

Hi John-
After researching for about 4 weeks, I finally ordered our bed on Saturday from Savvy Rest. I felt we really needed Dunlop, and if it turns out to be too firm, we can exchange for Talalay because they sell both. (Flobeds doesn't).

It costs more than SleepEZ, but after talking, at length, to both companies, my gut said to go with Savvy Rest. (although $600 more for our king w/foundation)

Savvy's owner, Michael Penny, is  helpful/ friendly, and he really seems to care about his products. And all his customer reps are informed as well. Everyone is helpful/friendly.

Because we need firm support for a bad back, we went with Dunlop as companies that sell both Dunlop & Talalay seem to say Dunlop has a more...
Latex mattreses at Jordan's in New England - JohnS
Oct 11, 2009 12:59 PM
I looked at 2 Latex mattresses at Jordan's, a New England furniture store.  I was somewhat impressed that they listed at least some detailed information about the Latex on the tags.  Also, the sales person was very helpful.

The first was a mattress made by Nature's Rest, a company supposedly located in Massachusetts.
The specs were:  about $2200
Quilted layer
Organic cotton; 1 ounce Jona wool; antimicrobial fiber
     3/4" Talalay layer 19 ILD
     3/4" Talalay layer 19 ILD
Comfort Layer
     3" Dunlop  24 ILD
Support Layer
6" I-core 32 ILD (said to be Dunlop)
     shoulder channels
7/8" 1.45 Density Foam (said to just to cushion the platform)
Box Spring has 1/2" 1.45 density foam on top of wood foundation

The second was by Natura's mattress (but not organic) about $2400
Quilted layer
Cotton blend cover; 18 ounce smartwool
1" quilt flex (some kind foam)
Comfort layer
     2" Talalay latex 32 ILD 60/40 blend
2" top has it's own zipper...
