I lost a whole post! And it has been a crappy long day. I'll try and recreate my post.

I spoke with someone at SleepEZ today. I don't remember his name and he seemed very nice, but when I talked about the recommendations here to start small and build from there and asked him for advice, he basically said that in his experience trying to piece together beds with 1 and 2 inch pieces was not a good idea and the people who tried that were on a path to dissatisfaction with the end result. He really thought people needed 2" as a bare minimum and that 3" on top was better. Oh and the 1 and 1.5 inch toppers that they have on their website -- apparently they are...

RV mattress. Need ideas. Is Plushfoam layer toxic or not and does it off gass - It has a 2" Talalay top. - marliz

Our new to us RV is 12 years old, in great condition, but I want to replace the mattress. I am leery of a full latex because all beds I've had so far - at least half a dozen, develop indentations in a year or two and at the price of latex, that's a bigger loss than usual.

There are some specials now on RV mattresses. Foam source has an "affordable 100% dunlap Latex Mattess, medium for 1300.00. They have free shipping. When I click on the Warrantee, nothing happens so I can't find out what the warrantee is or the return policy., though I can call.

Plus beds has a sale now for the RV Queen. It has free shipping, I think and an exchange or return policy. I wonder how much it would cost to return one of these monsters! Unfortunately it is not...

I've seen this recommendation around.  Point loads such as sitting or kneeling plunge deep into Latex, so a heavier person should consider a deeper mattress.

Hi GK! I apologize if this posts in the wrong spot:

Thank you so much for your very helpful reply! In particular, thank you for confirming that a medium-firm topper is not firm enough to serve as a base/bottom layer. Also, thank you for providing your thoughts on the three toppers I listed.  You've provided a lot of information which I will keep in mind. Considering everything above, I think I will invest the extra $100 or so for my topper, and get Talalay. That rules out the Mattresses.net topper and the sleepwarehouse topper.

I have a few additional questions that you or other members of the community may be able to answer:

1. Taking a closer look at the 3" absolute comfort on sale topper, I see that the medium-soft...

Hello,  I am Anthony and am a retailer of Carpe Diem Beds, Tempur-Pedic, Hastens, Simmons Black, etc.. Of course I have vested interest in Carpe Diem, so I will give you fact and not my opinion.

It is very easy to assume a sleep set is overpriced when you hear it retails for tens of thousands of dollars, I at one point thought so myself. However lets brake down how a Carpe Diem Bed is made and compare it to any other sleep system.

We will start with other sleep systems. Take Tempur-Pedic and Sterns and Foster. Two very different mattresses, however they both utilize an idea of using a soft material to comfort the body and a harder material to support the body. Let’s think about that for a moment. I'm not a big guy at 5'8" and 170lbs....

DIY - need help deciding between "natural" latex toppers - lmarie1

Hi everyone,

I want to put a mattress together, and I'm hoping you guys can give me some advice. I tested a few SavvyRest natural latex mattresses, and my favorite was their medium level of firmness. I want to ultimately buy 3 3" peices of natural latex (firm, medium, and softer). However, I'm going to start with a 3" soft topper and see how I like it. My biggest priority is for the latex toppers I buy to be as "natural" as possible. My next biggest priority is price. From what I've read, I think I would like to go with Talalay, because it is cooler, sturdier, and better quality than Dunlop (correct me if I'm wrong here), but I wouldn't mind doing a Dunlop bottom layer.

1. Most of the toppers I'm seeing only come in medium-soft and medium-firm varities. I've seen...

This post has nothing to do with memory foam....searching your posts....it seems you are a spammer....

Absolutecomfort and SleepWarehouse products are very similar from info on their websites.  I've ordered some samples from SleepWarehouse and per tracking info should have those in 3 days.  Latexco has a line of 100% natural latex, but the majority of their products sold look to be blended and not 100% latex.  I was able to get a pass to sneak into the ISPA show here in Indy (back in March) and was able to check out their product line, as well as a few others.  I have some samples coming from them as well (their 100% natural product - which I believe is also Dunlop)  It's...

Mattresses 24/7 on eBay - danielrhall

I’d like to relate my recent experience with purchasing a latex mattress from an eBay vendor. Pardon the length of this post but it’s been a long and interesting journey and I hope it provides research and purchase help to others.  Credit goes to forum member GKDesigns and his mattress design specs here.  They helped me.

Some background: after a couple of months of mattress research, I had a pretty good idea of what kind of mattress my wife and I wanted. She’s about 5’4” and 130 pounds and I am 5’11” and 240 pounds. We both prefer softer mattresses and really dislike very firm mattresses. Having checked out a few latex mattresses locally, we learned we liked latex and would be comfortable on something similar to the Beautiful model from Pure Latex Bliss. It was supportive for both of us but still soft...

More Mattress Woes, Need Help with Latex - pygmalionundone

Hello all,

I apologize for the long post, but some background may be helpful. Basically, my girlfriend and I have had some AWFUL luck with mattresses over the past year.  We've now returned THREE king sized mattresses due to issues.

Our first was a Sealy PerfectDay I-series Ceremony Super Pillow Top. This felt amazing at first, but within 2 weeks, I was walking around more hunched over than some 90 year-olds. It was too plush for me, although my g/f loved it. So, we returned it (for a small fortune) and tried again.

Next, I went to Bed-In-A-Box. I was impressed with the company's way of doing business, appreciated their liberal return policy, and actually got to try out some models because I just happen to live near Piney Flats TN. we got their 17 inch adjustable mattress, with twin-xl splits...
