donw, very clever.
I've been sleeping with a Tempu-Pedic "body pillow" for a few weeks now, and it's starting to get broken in so it's not so "hard", but it's still not exactly right. I like the body pillow because it gives me something to lean against, but I would like something more compliant. Down is just too soft for me, as is poly fill. I did try one latex pillow, but the loft was way too much and it was way too firm. It never occurred to me to rip it apart. :-)...

Vicky, a member of a Maltese dog list I am on loved the Westin Heavenly Mattress so much when she slept on it at the Sheraton in Parsippany during the week of the Dog Show around the third week in August 2007. She bought one of the beds and she has slept on it a few nights now and says it is a heavenly feeling and she loves the bed. I never felt the bed so I have no idea what it feels like....

I am waiting for Dave to send me a low profile (5.5")Plush (very soft) Talalay Latex Pillow. He sent me a Queen and it is the perfect softness but too high in loft. If I like the pillow, I will let everyone know and I may get a second one. I already have 4 standard natural latex pillows from Overstock.com that I like but always wished were a little softer and a little lower in height. I have a feeling my pillow is the Simmons Beautyrest firm latex. So if I like this pillow and others like it also, Dave at FlowBeds.com will start to sell it is also if there is a market for the pillow.
I never thought about putting the Latex in a blender and taking some of the pieces out so I have less loft but if I get desperate that is what I will do. The pain in...

Well I do think there are a number of products out there in every industry that bring about a 'love-it-or-hate-it' attitude. So I don't think that reviews should necessarily be considered fraudulent simply because they are all 5 or 1. I would make an exception of course if there were a large number of them and literally all were 5 or 1.
I hate the way a Chevy Blazer handles (handles less like a truck than an Explorer); I find them to be small and under-powered as well. Jane Doe loves hers though because it handles less like a truck (her last car was a Honda Civic); it has a lot more power and space than her Civic so she's pleased with thsoe areas as well. There's always going to be bias of some sort.
The stigmata that some give to the internet (when compared to other mediums) isn't really deserved. Every single commercial on TV...

The reason that the pocketed coil springs aren't made firmer, is due to troubles keeping them in the pockets. One way to make an individual coil firmer is to heat temper it. Simmons, I know is one company that tried to do this to their coils, however, if they tempered it while in the pocket, the pocket burned, and if they did it first, they couldn't get the coil in the pocket.
One thing that Simmons was able to do, was develop their cable coil (which they now call the "advanced pocketed coil"), which has 3 coils together to make one. That's probably your best bet, though you have to get a Simmons to get it, which I know a lot of people on here would shoot you for....

JCturboT,
I couldn't reply for a while because of trouble moving to the new forum, and I am not sure I can help with your question. I did not try the lambs wool Beckley, but it was intriguing. I agree with Bedbug that I wish we had gone softer, but having said that.....With the topper set up we have I can sleep comfortably on my back, sides and stomach on the Bristol firm. Being able to sleep on my stomach was very important to me, and I don't think I could sleep on my stomach on a softer mattress. This mattress is almost a year old and there is not a dent in it. We tried six mattresses(all kinds including pocketed coils and latex) before this one. The Beckley is the best of the lot and didn't cost any more than the Simmons that killed my back. It is not the...

Has anyone bought the Westin Heavenly mattress or Simmons Dakar Pillowtop Classic? (its clone) - BeddyBye

My sister-in-law slept on a Westin Heavenly Bed for a week and absolutely fell in love with the mattress! Now she wants one. So, she talked to someone who sells Simmons and he said that the Dakar Pillowtop Classic is the exact same one as the Heavenly only less expensive. It's a medium firm and the pillowtop isn't as thick and fluffy as some you see out there.
I know what my sister-in-law means about how comfortable that bed felt! I slept in one in Seattle and it was...well, it was HEAVENLY! BUT, I chose not to buy one because first of all, I'm leary of pillowstops, even low profile ones. Especially on no-flip mattresses. Also, even though it might feel wonderful for a few nights or a week in a hotel...I always get the feeling they change these mattresses a lot more than the average person would. Sure, if money...

It really is hard to know what helps us have that perfect night of sleep. When I was working fulltime and on my feet all day, as well as mentally exhausted, it was a lot easier to fall into bed and quickly fall asleep. Of course, I was also younger and not menopausal. That right there can change the whole dynamics of a good night's sleep. Just like having small kids who want to share your bed.

Still, I can't help feeling I'm a bit obsessed about having even the slightest body impressions on my mattress. I'm not sure if that contributes to my lower back pain or not. It's not like I'm sleeping in a crater or anything! My mattress will be a year old next month. I honestly can't say that I've been 100% satisfied all these months. Or just when I think it's perfect and I'll never need to...

I just purchased the JCPenny home collection zoned latex foam pillow. It's a medium, standard size. Is this the one you had purchased? Just wondering if I will be tearing foam tomorrow. I had read some posts on the other site and thought this was a good one ....... Any input to contribute? Oops, sorry I read further down the forum and found your other posts and see the info....
