I recently stayed at a Courtyard Marriott and slept on a Beautyrest Westbury, and slept horribly.  The mattress felt as if it were cradling you like a wet sand feeling which I did not enjoy.  I woke up every couple hours feeling "stuck".

Sharing my new FloBed Latex Bed configuration - Lynn2006

Since I had some time yesterday to take out my latex cores to exchange the old cover for the new zippered up new bed cover Dave at FloBeds sent me, I thought I might as well move the 44 ILD in the middle of my two 36 ILD cores with my 1" topper  on top. This was perfect!  the new cover feels wonderful and I was ready for this new firmness combination.  I never knew a 36 under a 44 ILD would give a nice feel until reading posts on this list. I thought having it on the bottom would be the best foundation.  I had asked for a new cover a few months ago due to when it arrived, this was a rip in it around the zipper area and another part inside.  He told me it rarely happens but as soon as I am was sure I was...

I still think Talalay is hyped.

You almost make out as if its a conspiracy. Of course any seller of any product is going to hype their own product as best they can and as often as they can. Tempurpedic hypes memory foam. Simmons hypes pocketed springs. Burger King hyped the Whopper.

Perhaps I'm missing the posts you're reading but I haven't seen one yet from a customer claiming latex is the ultimate and flawless bedding solution. It has its flaws just like everything else. We get it, you hate latex. I hate waterbeds, air mattresses and broccoli. Can we move on? :D...

Reviews aside you can get that Simmons for considerably less. I'd say about 2/3 of that price. You need to bargain though, it's all part of the game....

Bedbug- we did try both, and chose the Firm.  I was worried, and thought my husband would pick the medium firm- but he said no... the firm was just fine.  Of course- 5 months later he was the one that said he wanted some more padding on it for his joints.  We have the king, and it is better in regard to weight transfers- at least in regards to our old top of line simmons queen.

I still have to figure out the pillow situation now though, as we have the 2" memory foam.  Everynight I try something else, and still not happy. I still am having problems finding something suitable to go over the down topper. The down topper has the big elastic stays for the corners, and putting something over the topper would pose problems in stablizing it over the foam.  (unless I sewed my own corner elastic...

I purchased the Simmons Beautyrest Classic Firm, with king (twin xl) adjustable frame. It is firm and I slept well last night, but my wife and I agree that a topper would close the deal. I figure I could spend $150-300.  ...

We just bought one after returning A Restonic memory foam mattress. We also purchased the adjustable frame to go with the SB classic. We received a bargain (so they make me think). A king 2 XL twin system for $2k. We are going to purchase a topper later for it, but want to get a good one an I'm researching it.    ...

I just bought a Simmons Extra Firm mattress and found it needed a topper.  I got a 2" memory foam topper (2.5lb density).  The combo works great!  I bought at a department store (I was impatient) but it seems that you can get a better deal with higher quaility from a reputable online shop....
Simmons Exceptionale First Takes - gatorinfla

Ok, in the old forum I asked a question about the Simmons Exceptionale mattress as I was mainly concerned about all the negativity on the net about them.  Well, I went ahead and pulled the trigger and got the Exceptionale Extra Firm from Macy's here in Florida (the Vanderbilt "Ashton").  My take/hope on it was that most of the issues were related to the compression of the foam layers in the pillowtops (people reported them developing valleys, etc) and not the core mattress/springs.  I had a Sealy with 4" of latex that had significant depressions and didn't want a repeat.

The mattress was delivered over a week ago and sleeping on it was actually a bit rough at first.  While my wife didn't have any problems, I did have some issues with getting some sore spots if I ended up sleeping on my side.  In addition, I found the the combination of...
