I agree with D3Fi that I will not sleep on a mattress full of chemicals. I value my health so if I did not have allergies to the chemicals, I still would not want to sleep in a room with them. That is why I bought solid wood furniture and my FloBed Latex mattress since I want to wake up feeling well and not feeling sick like I used to when I had a conventional mattress. Today's world even has more chemicals and fire retardant chemicals in beds and I should know since Ii had to send the Simmons Roosevelt Bed back to Rockaway Bedding last February 2007 since I could not even be in the same room with it the first night without losing my voice and feeling like I could not breath. I tried sleeping on it after airing it out all day with the windows open. I got...

For once I agree with cloud9. I think the the S-brands are some of the worst offenders but indeed nearly all of the mass-produced innerspring mattresses are made like junk these days. I had an S&F as a kid that in total lasted over 20 years. The mattress I replaced it with (a Sealy or Simmons, can't recall) lasted 2 years. The mattress after that (a Sealy) lasted 3 years. Now I gave up on all of them and went another route....

Simmons is not only comparable, they are the manufacturer of the Heavenly bed.
The Heavenly bed used to be the similar to the top-end World Class Beautyrest but now I would look at the Beautyrest Black series.
Just be aware that many of us have had problems with foam pillow top mattresses having pre-mature body impressions.
Also be aware that while Simmons is arguably the best of the "S" companies, none of the top name brands are making mattresses anywhere near the quality they used to....

This is what my mattress guy did. He got tired of basically lying to his customers and telling the same story over and over. So, he opened his own mattress shop. He sells readymades (off-brand, but decent quality) AND, he makes the zippered mattresses, one of which I have. Latex and springs. Best wishes to you! Two thumbs up.

Hello all.<BR>I don't know if you remember me, but I have been in the mattress industry for the past 14 years on the retail sales end. I have recently decided to get away from selling the Sealy, Serta, Simmons national brand concept as I just don't believe they are giving my customers an acceptable value. I have researched many other mattress companies and found that all of the retail stores are the same when it comes to philosophy. They all believe cash is king and sell your...

Hello all.
I don't know if you remember me, but I have been in the mattress industry for the past 14 years on the retail sales end. I have recently decided to get away from selling the Sealy, Serta, Simmons national brand concept as I just don't believe they are giving my customers an acceptable value. I have researched many other mattress companies and found that all of the retail stores are the same when it comes to philosophy. They all believe cash is king and sell your customer at all costs. I am a Christian, so I have a problem with selling products I don't believe in and I have an even bigger problem trying to push a person into making a decision they aren't ready to make. For 14 years I have been questioned every time I allowed a customer to "walk" without buying anything and I simply can't...
latex beds by Natura? - cinnabon

Hi, my first post!
I am new here, and you guessed it! I'm in the market for a new bed. I have FM and can't sleep in the same room with my hubby, let alone the same bed!

I went to one of our local furniture stores and they carry latex beds made by Natura. I now sleep on a Simmons Beauty Rest with a 2 inch memory foam topper. We have a split king, but my hubby doesn't get to enjoy his side. We are moving, and downsizing our house so I know our new Master bedroom will not hold a king so I need something smaller, but big enough for cuddle time.

With the memory foam topper the bed is pretty comfy. But, if I get a new one, I don't think full memory would be good, and I am not sure about full latex. Natura has...
$1000 off King Sized Simmons Comforpedic mattress...........must read....... - mattcara0

We have a $4000 king size Simmons Comforpedic we need to give a new home. Looking to take off approx $1000 off the cost of this mattress. We bought it in Feb 08, slept on it for approx 2 weeks with microbial bag on it. My wife' s back problems found it too soft for her. For me it was ok. Anyway if someone needs one, we have it in NJ for approx $3000 negotiable. Email me at mtrawinski@verizon.net. or call 201 712-1040. We can hopefully work out shipping together. We are not a store and the mattress is in perfect condition and barely used. This model is on the floor proabably in any Sleepys Store. All original paperwork ready to go with mattress. No box springs or bed frames are included. ...

We are not a store. We have a brand new king size comforpedic that was in a microbial bag standing in our bedroom. This is the high end one over $4000. We don' t have the room for it and can' t return it- very upsetting. It was slept on by me and my wife for about 2 weeks. Originally bought from sleepys in NJ in FEB. If you or anyone is interested please call us at home 201 712-1040 or email me at mtrawinski@verizon.net . We are willing to take off $1000 and sell for around $3000 for this barely used Comforpedic. It is in absolutely brand new condition. The only thing we would have to work out if someone is interested is shipping unless you have a truck or are near the Bergen county area in NJ we might be able to help truck it to you. All original paperwork is sitting in our bedroom next...

Thank you kindly for the replies, I really appreciate it.
I did a little research around the forums as suggested, as well as some research around the internet. I also went shopping (twice) for a mattress type I felt was most comfortable at sleepy's and better bedding. It came down to either memory foam, or latex, more specifically a sealy full latex, tempur-pedic, or comforpedic. And although the sealy and comforpedic were indeed quite comfortable, I get this gut feeling I wouldn't like it after sleeping on it because it's simply too comfortable, if that makes sense... The tempurpedics (rhapsody and deluxe) were nice the way they comformed to my body, but they seemed just a bit too firm, and the tempurature in the summer thing is probably my biggest turn-off. I already have a hard enough time as it is sleeping in the summer heat. Also it seems a lot of...
