newer S&F mattresses are NOT interlocked coils only the sealy is.  What did you buy?  Have been reading peter's website as well...

Good for you!  Before buying it, I'd find out exactly what layers are in it, how thick and what they are composed of.  I looked at the Sealy website and they don't tell much.  They do have three levels of beds, but don't say what springs are used in each.  I'd look for the best springs with the minimum of polyurethane padding.
Yeah, hubbys aren't too keen on the slicing open of new mattresses, I can attest to that!!!

Re: closest firmness to a sealy posturepedic signature firm, foam style - Kait

Here's something to remember:  The higher end you go in a particular line, the MORE foam you get.  Really.  I asked.  I think the lowest bed had like 7" and it went up from there.
The reason I mentioned cutting open your Signature is because regardless of how you sleep, it probably is the foam that died and not the springs, unless your bed is many years old.
I have the same issue of all my weight being in the same spot....exactly halfway down the mattress is the spot.  Plus I sleep on my back or sides, so there is always a concentration there.  We have a Ca King so no revolving it.  I have in the past(S & F mattress) slept all over the mattress after the butt-dent began...in the middle of the bed, along all the perimeters, everyplace.  Yep, you start to get really upset when you are clinging to...
Re: Anyone try Serta 'cool' memory foam topper? - sandman

That's intersting because I was/am considering the cushion firm of of the Sealy Reserve line.  Probably my favorite thing I tried for $1500 or less was the firm S&F estate (no pillowtop).  I have read about problems form S&F with sagging, etc., so that scares me a bit.  Yes, I would hate to cut into it (at least for many years).

I also saw that foamsweetfoam has 3" strips of 100% natural talalay latex for $400 (queen).  No cover though (you can buy a cheap terry cloth at sleeplikeabear),  so if you don't want dunlop they are not a bad way to go.  Can't compete with the Costco price though.

From what I can tell the Celsion does not seem to be any cooler than the Talatech.  Maybe in summer it would make a difference, but I am skeptical at this point....

o.k. i've found it close to that- $1529 but not sure if it included shipping (& extra for split queen for me).  i agree they feel better than anything near that price, even sealy's springfree firm latex.

so i went to the roomstore this week. they had both that one at $1629 but with "unconditional price match guarantee" (we'll see, they match internet prices just not 'direct from warehouse' type sellers), and they also had the sealy signature firm.  the latter was a special designation of the signature line called "rejuvinate" (?), which is the same, just with some special covering ("aloe treated").  but i matched up all the layers in his paperwork on it, & except for the case & tag, layer for layer it's the exact same thing as the signature greenhurst firm for $909.  roomstore has it for $1099, & they will not price match that much.

anyway, the whole point is for me, BOTH of those models feel so nice out...

my problem is i have to sleep on something for a while before i know if it works as i have upper back pain that requires soft and lower that requires firm, if i react too soon i might get rid of the layer i need, etc...man, what a pain

hey maybe something good for that- cut & assemble your own topper so that it has sections of varying ild's as needed from head to toe (all within one layer).

you could for instance have memory foam in the top 1/3 section where you're upper body needs soft, then firm latex in the midsection etc.  sealy actually does something just like this with their x7 visco/latex layer in their signature mattresses, buried in the comfort layers.  i'd want the puzzle-layer jUST under a thin topper so you could actually feel the difference, but no seams (unless you got fancy & beveled the edges so they overlap a...

What kind of mattress do you have?

just another sealy posturepedic- the cheapest reserve firm that still has their signature line's coils.

but if i had the budget, it would easily be a p-grade stearns & foster in ultra firm.  their lowest model that has the dual spring setup- smaller tighter coils within larger taller coils, so dual action shock absorption & 2x as many in the same area. all marvelux & high performance/high density foam on top & more of it than the sealys.  just too expensive & too beautiful to butcher now or later for any reason.  unless a toddler were somehow trapped in there or something else highly unlikely.  they do feel incredible though.

i just have to wait until the costco sale is over or runs o.o.s. because it's hard to buy  anything else while that's an option.  you can hardly buy 6" of raw dunlop latex without a cover for what they're charging for their 10" queen....

I agree many of the people on this is site are real people who have no intentions of misleading.  Maybe I didn't explain in detail how I feel.  I hope companies who make better quality products make money and stay in business.   They provide a valuable service.  I believe the price of a good night sleep is worth a lot just like you do.  It is shocking on how much these luxury mattress can cost but If these are the only mattresses that helps you sleep then get on your knees and thank the cosmos.  The one thing I hate is companies that give false claims and mislead.   Just like wendy's song saying "you know when its real"  where you might speculate they are using only real ingredients and not shit loads preservatives and taste enhancing god knows what.  I believe the foam and latex companies are guilty of...
found a bed, i think, thanks to Kait!! thoughts? - Elaine70

Hi everyone, thanks for your help this past while, i'm not done researching, but i found a real promising bed today, it's called the sealy posturepedic traditional, in Canada anyway, it's got what they call their patented sense and respond system, and triple offset coils... the bed is pretty hard, and i'm a soft bed type of person, but maybe i will get a latex layer from flobeds to go over it or something... any thoughts from all you bed surgeons out there? since i can't find anywhere to get a custom made bed? it feels so great because of this sense and respond system, your shoulder goes in, your hips go in, and your waist goes upward where it's supposed to be... what a revelation!! lol i don't know if it will be dipping after having it a month, i hope not, because i doubt my husband...
