2 Questions regarding Boxsprings/Foundations

Hello everyone, I was just wondering if anyone knows if this Boxspring has springs in it, or if it's just a wooden box?

Also, is it safe to put a Boxspring and mattress on the floor?  Or do you have to have some kind of frame?

It would seem you want your foundation off the floor so it doesn't collect dust and later dustmites around the bottom edge.

The link is to a "boxspring", so I would say it has springs in it.

 

You can certainly put a boxspring and mattress on the floor if that is your preference. When you ask if it's safe, I really don't know in what way you mean.
