In late June, I purchased a SleepEZ 10000 mattress from Shawn Medlock. Shawn and I have been friends for several years and are workout partners at a gym in North Phoenix. He had been listening to me complain about back problems from sleeping on a thirteen year old mattress and box springs. He finally said, “You know I can solve some of your back issues and then I won’t need to listen to your complaints any more”. He already knew my age my age (old enough to be his father), height, and weight. We talked about sleeping positions, and the types of surface and firmness that I would prefer. He also asked the same information about my wife. I thought that I would be comfortable with medium/firm/x-firm and that my wife would prefer soft/medium/firm. After listening to my analysis, he suggested that we both should choose soft/medium/firm for our respective layers. In retrospect, he was correct.

We scheduled delivery for June 22 because we would be out of town for a few days. I called Shawn that morning and he said “welcome home”, the mattress and foundation would be delivered by 10 AM. Martine and Kevin were at our house by 9:30 AM, within 20 minutes had removed the old bed, and assembled the new mattress and foundation. We had also purchased one of the mattress protectors, but were reluctant to cover the mattress because the organic cotton cover was so beautiful. Yes, we finally installed the new cover.

We have slept on the new mattress and foundation for six months and we are thoroughly satisfied with the product. I no longer complain about back problems, however, I apparently still snore.

On numerous occasions I have listened to Shawn speak with customers on the telephone. His work ethic, product knowledge, and customer service is exemplary. If you are shopping for a new mattress and foundation, please call my friend Shawn at SleepEZ and have a true professional answer your questions.

DON'T EVER BUY A SLEEP SCIENCE BED

Our first sleep science bed purchased from South Bay International, Inc. in Pomona Ca (through Costco online) came right out of the shrink wrap smelling like mold. We returned it and received another. My husband just found that the entire underneath side of our bed which we have been sleeping in for over a year (with our 2 year daughter), is COVERED in MOLD. Our daughter wheezes at night and I have been fighting a sinus infection for over a month, which won't go away even with antibiotics. There is no other mold in our home and nothing was EVER spilled on the bed. Both Costco and the manufacturer, South Bay International, Inc. are refusing to acknowledge they are continuing to sell a faulty dangerous product. BEWARE.

As a chronic insomniac, I didn't think that anything could be done to help me. I heard about Savvy Rest mattresses and thought it was worth a try. It was very assuring to me knowing that these mattresses are organic and that I was not inhaling harmful chemicals every night.

After the first couple of nights getting used to the change, I noticed a VAST improvement in my sleeping habits. I am now able to sleep through the night comfortably, which makes a huge impact on my daily life. Whereas I used to spend half the night on the couch, it is now very difficult for me to get out of bed in the morning.

The staff and service are great - I truly felt that the staff cared about my sleep patterns and habits and worked with me to find the best combination of layers for my needs. The exchange policy is great.

Savvy's pillows are also great and have helped me with some sore neck issues that I used to have.

I would recommend getting fitted for a savvy rest mattress by a professional before you purchase one.

Pros:

Extremely soft and comfortable, yet supportive at the same time. All natural and contains no toxic chemicals. The Staff was great and worked with me to find my ideal comfort level. These mattress are extremely durable - I have had mine for three years now, and I don't plan on getting a new one any time soon.

Cons:

At first I thought it was a bit expensive, but it is definitely worth the value. The ability to sleep through the night is priceless. This mattress will last many more years than a "normal" spring mattress.

The only complaint I have is that it is now difficult to sleep at other people's houses or hotels for more than one night. My body craves the latex.
