Yes, bought the expensive mattress pad, it was the kind that is very thin and water proof, it probably doesnt sleep as cool as it could with using it though...I dont know why we bought it other than the warranty...  come to think of it, I dont think I have wet the bed in 55 years.   hehehe  I will say that I had a hard time getting use to the split bed, I almost felt like I was in a hosptial bed, took me a good month to get past that... I love being able to raise my knees up, I am a back sleeper so it doesnt bother me, on the other hand my husband is a side sleeper and prefers it flat, but when his alergies were bothering him being able to raise his head was a life saver. I would hear him cough, then raise his head, ahhh quiet, then he would let his head back down, then cough cough cough, then I would hear his head go back up again, then quiet, it was quite commical.. We did order split king sheets, cost a small fortune, but have since discovered that tucking our old sheets works just as good or better... We got a split king, which are 2 twins XL, so I buy full sheets and tuck them in, one good thing is buying 2 seperate sheet sets means we dont fight over the top sheet, we both have one  :)))

We love it.  If we had the choice to do over though, we'd have gotten a queen again.  I freeze at night and I really miss the body heat from my husband.  He was even cold.  So much for the bed sleeping "hot".  There were complaints about the smell from other posters.  Ours was made about a week before it arrived (had the date made clearly posted on the outer wrapper) and it had no smell whatsoever.  We both have problems with out backs and feel like the pain has been reduced and my husband said I no longer snore.  WOW.  

Overall, we're very happy with this sleep system.

For the person who used to sell Tempur, I discovered that Tempur has changed out every cover of the earlier mattress to be more breathable and couple with their air flow system, it makes it difficult to allow heat build up which in turn radiates the heat back towards the sleeper.

For the person asking about the air flow channels, the gel in the iComfort (at least in what I have been able to determine through testing them myself in a store) seems to keep heat from building up (much like the gel inserts you canputin your shoes).

For "firehawk343" I think the price is relative to the comfort. If you are between two particular beds, spend at least 15 minutes in eachof them withyour partner. Discuss what you are feeling and experiencing. Take note of the way your muscles are reacting and the stress orpain in your lower back or extremities. If one feels better than the other go for it! (Warranties and exchange options are there if you chose incorrectly) If you cannot feel the difference in your back and only feel the difference whn yu see the price tag, buy the one that is easier on your wallet. If it doesn;t work, you can move up from there. I understand that Serta spent 7 years of "real world" testing befoe everplacing the 25 year warranty and the 120 day exchange option. Other major manufacturers (most names start with an "S") did not have huge success with many of their memory foam options... I have not seen ANY claims on the iComforts since they hit our floors and I am still selling about a 50/50 mix of Tempur to iComfort even with the price differences... comfort is king when finding a mattress.

Well the Tempurpedic Cloud was extremely nice in the plushy area and supportive...really a great mattress (for sleeping ONLY).  But after all the hub-bub about the sleeping hot thing, I definitely had to keep that in mind because I absolutely hate that and the other thing, which ended up being a deciding factor for me was...the slow bounceback when moving from one spot to the next.  Beds are not only used for JUST sleeping and when if I've been laying/sitting in a spot for a nice minute, I dont want to feel like I have to climb out of a hole, nor do I want to roll out the hole onto a stiff area of the bed that has to take time to "accept" me.  Reaction time became more important to me the more I tested...which brings me to the iComfort beds.

Next to the Tempurpedic area was the iComfort mattresses and when I first layed on them, they were very nice. Eventually I made my way to their top model, the Renewal Refined series and IMMEDIATELY I knew this was IT!!!  It had a fast bounceback response, it had wonderful support, and it felt like I was laying on the palms of God. Super plushy.  Of all the beds I'd tryed out, this had all the things that were important to me, except price.  It was very expensive...but the hell with it.  I had to have the bed because it wasn't like you go out and buy a mattress every year.  I'm currently waiting to get it home tomorrow and I will report back my immediate feeling of it after one night of sleep on it and then after a month or so.  But I can't WAIT!!!  

As a  2 1/2 month Tempurpedic Cloud owner, I'll reconfirm that sleeping hot, at least on this mattress is a complete and utter non-issue.  At least Tempurpedic makes an attempt at air flow with their single or dual air flow channels.  Do you really think body heat magically dissipates more through the gel foam of icomfort?  btw, only the Insight and Genius have the gel foam at surface, the other two are 'Koolcomfort'.

Also, consider your lightweight icomfort box spring foundations versus the brick house all wood Tempurpedic fixed foundations which btw, weigh quite a bit.

First, let me say that one of my worries from reading the reviews on this forum was the smell from the bed.  I get bad headaches and planned on letting it air out for a couple of nights in case it smelled.  It did not smell and I was able to sleep on it the very first night.

Second,  as others have stated when I first got the bed it was hard as a rock.  When the delivery guy showed off the adjustable part the matress did not bend, was actually kind of funny..:)  The delivery guy told me that it was in the truck for an entire night before they delivered it and it was near freezing that night.  He said to give it a few hours and lay on it for a while.  I did that and it did in fact softened up to about what I expected from the store.

I have only spent one night on the bed and can tell you that it was good....not great, but good.  I am now wondering if I should of bought the revolution.  I get 120 days to try this bed so if I don't think I got my moneys worth I will send it back.  The store had a trade in policy but I told them I would not buy it unless they offered a full refund after the trail period.  I also insisted that they include the adjustable bed in the return if I did not like it.  I agreed to pay an $80 return delivery fee and nothing else.  They agreed.  Many people don't realize but most stores only mean that you can return the matress not the adjustable bed.  I suggest anyone insist on the same as you can always threaten to buy from another store.

I am posting this so that others who want an unbiased opinion don't have to wonder about things like the smell.  I can't say there is no new bed smell...there is a little, but not much at all.  When I was in the store the Tempurpedic smelled so bad it was the reason that I went with iComfort.  Once I decided on iComfort the sales guy told me the new Tempurpedic's smelled up the store the first few days they were there.

Also the bed did sleep cool, but it is November so that is not saying much for now...:)
