Hi all, after lots of research, visiting stores, and reading reviews I just got off the phone with a customer service rep at Saatva (the online luxury mattress company) who I found to be extremely helpful in answering my questions.  The service representative said that their model is similar to Zappos, which is customer service centric approach to business and savings due to being online only.  I definitely can see that, it was nice to be able to get someone on the phone when I called it seems like they are exceptional to work with!  My main concern any mattress purchase is it sleeping "hot", but I was assured due to the high quality memory foam, premium eurotop, and stucture of the foam layers that this was not an issue.  The salesperson also confirmed (as I've heard lots of good things about dual-coil beds) that thier bed cannot usually be found in this price range and is an "ultra premium" product.  I've heard dual-coil is superior for stability and durability, in addition to providing better support and comfort.  Makes sense to me.  I was convinced. I am local delivery here so I'm going to arrange to have the bed by the end of the week.  I'm really looking forward to finally making a purchase after more than a month of looking around!  If I can get a $2-3000, supportive, bed for $1200 call me a fan!  Hope to update in about a week when I get the bed.

Nice ad for Saatva.  Why do they call themselves Saatva?

Hi GK Designs,  I agree its one of the nicest sites out there and the ads look pretty nice.  We're still waiting for the bed.  But so far its been a great experience.  We are excited for the mattress are very happy customer servise-wise.  We will continue to update the community as it gets delivered...

The Saatva website describes a foam on coil mattress, give or take a few coils or foam cells.  And is very heavy on explaining their Internet marketing prowness but says nothing about their product manufacturing operation or depth.  Maybe they are just a website marketing frontend to an S-company online-only division... they make it hard to know what the truth is.

Actually GK - the "dual-coil" structure was a huge selling point and we spent a lot of time looking for this structure in particular after hearing of the benefits, in fact the cheapest Dual Coil bed we found otherwise was at Sears for around $2700. It was probably the biggest selling point for us given the benefits.  We were not sure whether we wanted a "one sided" bed, but it seems like from all of our research that this structure is the best way to make it last longer with optimal comfort.  Can you elaborate?

To elaborate, their website touts their marketing 'story' ad nauseam, complete with trivial personal details about a few Internet startup-type marketing staff, but it says nothing about their production story... who makes their luxury sleep product and where for less than half the price of their competition.  They present a story that is solely and overly about their Internet marketing plan... I'm sure they worked very hard on it... but I'd like to know about their product manufacturing story.

Hi GKDesigns,

We spent a lot of time looking at Mattress specs and talking with different people.  In fact, we spent almost an hour talking through the bed specs with the Saatva customer service rep.  Here are a few of the pages I looked at as well as the "bedding technology" page he referred me to.  I agree on a couple of their pages they do spent time talking about online-only vs. stores, but I just viewed that as their intention to talk about how they are able to bring savings.  Anyway I am getting the bed on Friday.  I just don't want you to think I didn't do my research, we spent almost a month looking for various beds and just couldn't beat this.
