I own a three month old Royal Aireloom plush mattress. I had been using it with split box springs on a metal frame. I have just purchased a wooden sleigh bed, which I love the look of. However, I am concerned about still getting the proper support for the mattress - and for my bad back. The new bed has a slat foundation - 16 wooden slats running horizontally from top to bottom, with one three legged cross slat down the middle. The bed is intended to be used with a mattress only. The matress company said this will not be enough support (they said a minimum of 5 cross slats) - but I have read differently here on the internet. Does anyone have advice on this - I still have three weeks to return the bed should I wish. Thanks so much!!!
