Disappointed

Simmons Beautyrest World Class

This was our first foray into pillowtops coming out of a 17 yr-old Perfect Sleeper set. I loved the soft feel of the pillowtop in the store, and for the first week, it was as fine a sleep experience as I'd ever had. Unfortunately, the P/T showed body indentations of about 1" in the 2nd week (which I personally believe is excessive). Worse, I started having problems in my upper back, which I've never had before. I don't know if this was just an adjustment issue, a problem with a too-soft P/T, or something about the Simmons pocketed coil that my back doesn't like. In light of information I came across later that Simmons' pocketed coils are neither durable nor long lasting, we've made the decision to return the product in favor of S&F. Just for the record, while I think the higher end Latitudes/Exceptionale products are superior to the Beautyrest World Class line, I just can't see paying in excess of $2K for anything but S&F.

Serta Perfect night far less than perfect

Serta Perfect Night

I have owned the Serta Perfect Night for three years now. I doscovered this forum while seeking a new mattress. For the highest end Serta made that should have lasted ten to fifteen years has shown it can't even last three.
Initially it held up well. But after three months it became clear that this mattress was not going to last a decade or longer. After awhile the pillow top thins in spots. mostly where you lay. the bed gives the impression you are sleeping onthe side of a mountain at times and in other areas of the bed it feels like the mattress is stuffed with garbage ( I mean it literally. hard lump, dips, sharp edges)
I have gone through two of these after the first became victim to staining and I had taken advantage of the stain protection. Maybe I let my child loose on the matress with grape juice hoping it would happen so I could take advantage and hope the new mattress would be better. it was not.

Where, oh where can I find a reliable list or review of comaparable model names for identical sets sold by different retailers?
Date Purchased: June '03
Price Paid: $2000
Recommend: Yes

Pros:

This bed was in the Siena Hotel/Spa/Casino in Reno and was easily the most comfy I've ever slept in. I really would like to buy an identical set.

Cons:

But Serta and it's retailers maintain it's not available to retail consumers and REFUSE to identify comparable consumer models. The practice of changing model names for each retailer just makes me mad and convinces me the practice is just a scam and is intended to confuse a purchaser.
