This mattress comes with four adjustable layers of organic latex, so you can adjust the firmness to anything you desire. I found the mattress to be VERY sensitive to any adjustment so If you like a foam mattress you can be assured you will be able to get it to your liking if you put some effort into it. The mattress also has a horse hair layer which I thought was a marketing gimmick but really does work to keep you dryer and cooler and is very noticeable if you remove it. The company was good to work with. I did have a heck of a time getting the mattress into the correct firmness ball park. It is currently much softer than the initial recommended level it was sent with. I can testify that the additional foam layers do make the mattress more comfortable as I was able to get a very soft pillow top with good support underneath. This would not have been possible with a two or three layer mattress. The 16" mattress really makes a better product compared to the thinner alternatives. Comparing the price of the bed to the ones I saw at the general retail stores the bed is priced very competitively considering the top of the line materials used. This is a first class bed that is built to last a very long time. My one caveat is to make sure that you actually like a foam bed before ordering. The company will do everything necessary to get the bed to work for you, but if you don't like a foam bed then it won't be right for you.
