My partner and I bought this Sealy Posturepedic queen bed about a year ago and we just love it. It's helped to improve the quality of our sleep and my hip issues have nearly disappeared.
It comes with a 10 year warranty -- reassuring. I wanted to add my two cents since we've had it for so long and are still very happy with it.

Supportive, comfortable, not too "hot", and a good brand name.
Cons:
Nothing I can think of.

Purchased this mattress in February. Initially very happy with the purchase. It was very comfortable in the store, and just as good when it was delivered. For the first 3 months, we loved it. Then the body impressions started. And once they started it quickly went down hill. They have not reached the 1.5" depth needed to trigger the warranty, so we are out of luck. After doing a lot of research, I discovered the cause of body impressions in many cases is polyurethane foam in the comfort layers. Checking the tag on this mattress revealed that over 70% of the mattress is composed of polyurethane. If you are concerned about body impressions, avoid this mattress.
Date Purchased: February 2010
Price Paid: $1199 Recommend: No Pros:
Initial comfort was very good.
Cons:
Polyurethane in the comfort layers compresses very quickly.
Body impressions after 3 months. Noisy Motion transfer very noticable.

My husband and I bought a new queen mattress set from Mattress Firm last December 2008 for $900. After one month the mattress was squeaking and they replaced it with no hassle because we were still within the 90 day "trial" period. Last month, July 2009, my husband noticed that the bed was sagging in the middle and was very uncomfortable. I called Mattress Firm and was told that since we were out of the "trial" period that we had to prove to Serta that the bed is actually sagging more than 1-1/4". Also, if we turn in the mattress we will have to pay a $150.00 sanitation fee as well as a $60.00 delivery fee. So here we are with a crummy mattress with no alternative to resolve without spending additional $$$.
Date Purchased: December 2008
Price Paid: $900 Recommend: No Pros:
Nothing
Cons:
Sagging after 5 months of normal use. No kids, dogs, jumping, etc. on the mattress.
Squeaky springs after 3 weeks after purchase. |
