Savvy Rest Serenity

I'm a retired orthopedic nurse with a back problem. My old inner-spring mattress wasn't that old -- six years -- but had broken down to the point of sagging. After many a sleepless, painful night, my husband and I decided to research mattresses and chose Savvy Rest. We chose latex because of its longevity, its support and its resistance to dust mites. We chose Savvy Rest because we were impressed by their customer service and their willingness to educate buyers.

We've had our Serenity, from the Natural Sleep Store, for almost a month. I can't attest to the longevity of the latex yet, but I can report that my back and my husband's shoulder have improved significantly. First night on the new bed, I fell asleep quickly and awoke in the morning. Without exaggeration, I haven't slept through the night in years.

We purchased a firm and medium layer of dunlop and the top layer is soft talalay. Because we're used to a pillow-top feel, we also purchased a wool topper, plus we purchased a foundation. The result is a very comfortable bed, yet it isn't the comfort that is most impressive, but the remarkable ability of latex to conform to our shape while still supporting our back and keeping us in good alignment. I'm no longer awakened during the night by pain.

We're impressed by the quality of the bed, the cover is soft and luxurious, and assembly is a snap. We highly recommend Savvy AND the Natural Sleep Store.

The mattress at first took some getting used to, and there were a few months where it was comfortable. As time wore on, however, the mattress was not coming back to it's original shape, but was creating a valley.

Now, I'm sleeping in what feels like a ditch. I wake up sore and tired. Worst part is, I'm only comfortable sleeping on my back on this mattress rather than my sides--which is how I sleep everywhere else.

On the plus side, my lazy boy couch--with the footrests that come up--is 10 years old and still highly comfortable. Makes a better bed for me now.

After spending considerable time researching latex mattresses I purchased the SleepEZ 10000.

I purchased this mattress for the following reasons:
1. 100% natural talalay mattress
2. clear, easy to understand, value pricing
3. nice mattress cover
4. company reputation
5. ability to choose firmness for each layer
6. ability to return layers if needed
7. ability to split layers to customize firmness on either side of the bed

The mattress arrived on time and I was billed the expected amount. I received natural latex layers with the expected firmness. I was surprised by how supple the layers were and was honestly surprised that they all fit into the cover (but they did with some gentle coaxing).

My wife and I sleep much more soundly now, and wake up refreshed and without soreness / creekiness like we used to.

The website was very helpful in explaining the differences between the different latex types (synthetic, natural, blended) and manufacturing processes (dunlop vs talalay). Customer service was great when answering questions and when I didn't receive a shipping confirmation email (which didn't affect the actual shipping).

Pros:

Really friendly, helpful people on the phone.

Arrived exactly as expected and on time.

Online directions on how to assemble the mattress were very helpful.

Very nice cover.

Very comfortable.

Cons:

My only issue with my experience was not receiving a shipping confirmation email. This was quickly remedied with a phone call to SleepEz, they quickly fixed the clerical error which did not affect the delivery of the mattress.
